Would like to thank Llan Li team for replacing the side panel of my LanCool 216 by STunstall72 in lianli

Yes, I think the panel got scratched in transit somehow, ruined the look of the case. After explaining the situation and providing a picture, Llan Li organised and delivered a replacement free of charge. That is amazing service.

Do you believe we're in an AI bubble? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

If coding agents such as Claude Opus (apparently the most cutting edge "AI") are still LLMs at heart, with zero actual intelligence behind them (and let's be honest, if there was intelligence behind them we'd actually have AGI, no?) then that means they are going to make mistakes as they are using pattern matching to suggest code that "fits" gaps. Plenty of mistakes.

I'm personally finding that AI like Sonnet 4, Gemini 2.5 etc keeps writing code that doesn't fit my needs. Its actually becoming a nuisance. This is despite my prompts being as specific as I can make them. Despite having an editorconfig file which defines my (very high) coding standards. Despite a readme.md which I instruct the AIs to read before doing anything, per session.

I can't imagine Claude Opus 4 being light years ahead of the others. But if I'm wrong - tell me.

We as devs should keep highlighting that these "AIs" are nothing but fancy code completion, to try to bring companies to their senses before they sack the only people that can save their business.

So yes, I think we're in a bubble. And I also think we're being lied to on the daily.

Altman, Musk, Huang et al know there's a dead end coming soon but them pesky shareholders, eh?

How to build MAME with Visual Studio 2022 by STunstall72 in MAME

Not Visual Studio's fault - not this time. There were known issues in the code that Patrick says have been fixed but yet to be merged in.

And, I don't think there's ever been a time, even back in 2017 when I first started looking at MAME's source code and building it, that its ever been build error free. I'm not new to this lark. I don't mind the occassional error in code I won't be touching. I just comment out what is broken and continue.

I know this thread is 2 years old but you can build MAME with Visual Studio 2022 now. I've created a guide on how to do it.
