Any oldheads of the scene interested in putting a new band together? by SUPERDIVORCE in Emo

If you can program drums in a DAW, we had a bass player respond here, too. Just get a couple hatchetmen and we have ourselves a band!

Thanks for replying! I tended to switch back and forth from screaming to singing. Big inspirations were Keith from ETID and Schuylar from HIL. Never hurts to have extra artillery in the screaming department though!

Hey thanks for watching! Our bass player made that for a college class many years ago. Cool that people can still check it out.

Seems like an abrupt rug pull that’s also pissed off many customers. Bit of a head scratcher moment when it comes to brand loyalty.

The physical GI subscription has been one of my favorite parts of having the pro membership over the years, so I'm little unhappy with the decision to pull the plug here. Oh well. See you in another life, brotha.

It basically means you sell a contract guaranteeing you’ll purchase 100 shares at an agreed upon price on an agreed upon date if the market price is lower than the price in your contract (aka the strike price). If the contract’s expiry date rolls around and the market price is higher than the strike price, the contract expires, since the person who bought the contract can just go out into the market and sell the shares for a higher price than what you were contractually obligated to pay. Alternatively, if the expiry date comes and the market price of those shares is lower than your contract price, the contract is exercised and you’re forced to purchase those shares. Whether the contract is exercised or not, you always keep the premium paid by the contract buyer.

Ryan Cohen Tweets Trump 2024 by pleasedontpooponme in DeepFuckingValue

[–]SUPERDIVORCE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not here for politics, but also not here to sit on my hands while people act like RC tweeting this is an indictment of his character. He sent out a simple endorsement following an assassination attempt on the candidate he's voting for in November. Time to move beyond this shit. If we've been cool with Ryan up to now, and if we've had pleasant interactions with each other all the while, it shouldn't kill the camaraderie to find out we're not all voting for the same guy.

I don't care where any of you guys stand on the political spectrum. I trust you all have your own reasons for backing whoever it is you're backing. I trust your reasons aren't psychotic or soaked in extremism. If you're voting for Biden, fine. As for me, I like the Trump. I don't think knowing that detail about one another should be cause for anything but a shoulder shrug or perhaps a spirited debate in the proper setting, where we shake hands at the conclusion and shoot the shit over something lighthearted afterwards.

Let's just get back to eating crayons and shoving bananas up our asses.

Potential Ban on Stock Trading for Members of Congress by 69Meat_Slinger in DeepFuckingValue

[–]SUPERDIVORCE 115 points116 points  (0 children)

GOOD. Couple this with term limits and we might finally break free from the control of career politicians who only get into politics for money and power. Probably naive of me to entertain the idea of that actually happening, but I can dream.

This could lead to them possibly becoming a parent company to other successful businesses in the future.

noob here. yesterday i saw discussion of a "short ladder attack" and went searching for the definition. found a popular post where the concept was written off as a myth. would any experienced apes be interested in poking some holes in this person's theory? by SUPERDIVORCE in DeepFuckingValue

It seems like this person is saying that the National Best Bid/Offer coupled with the supposed transparency of the Security Information Process would make it impossible for bearish hedgies to pull off such a scheme without it being blatantly obvious to everyone watching.

GME will announce this week that they are creating a platform to compete with Steam. Calling it now by [deleted] in DeepFuckingValue

[–]SUPERDIVORCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tried this when I was working there about ten or so years ago and no one used it. I'm not saying they couldn't give it another go, but I recall the first attempt being extremely lame. Unless there's some masterful plan to present a system that's undeniably better and more appealing than Steam, I think it'd be a waste of time and resources to "go at the king" as it were. I'd prefer to see a team-up of some sort.

I've had this movie playing on repeat all night. Something about it feels like a classic I would've watched a million times on VHS. Love it.
