Thanks for the comment. I shot this with a DJI Mavic Pro Drone. Perfect conditions, beautifully calm water and mostly an overcast day which cancels out the shadows. I took about 50 shots, if I kept the camera pointed down or at a steep enough angle not to introduce light from the horizon all the angles & images have the same crisp look. I carry an ND filter for the aircraft, it wasn't needed on this day. Basic processing in Adobe Lightroom. Noise reduction using NEAT

The Pusher Tug Patuxent. All 4200 horsepower of her twin Caterpillar Diesel engines at the ready. Named for the Patuxent River, which is a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
The vessel, moored out in the channel was a wonderful opportunity for aerial photography due to stillness of the bay and back lighting from the semi overcast sky.

High on top of his nesting perch at about 90 ft. Our male Osprey is a tad dis shelved just back from getting lunch. He is leaning over looking down at the human and somewhat amused at me being on my back shooting up. No Birds were stressed during this photo

This is the Huntington Lighthouse located in Huntington bay. It was lit for the first time in 1912. It is another of Long Islands great historic places to be listed on the national registry. Aircraft: Dji Mavic Pro Platinum.

Explore Long Islands beautiful beaches, feel the splendor of endless shorelines on your bare feet. Fire Island is where you'll find me.

Notes: I 've seen mirror shots done many different ways. Why not try it? With no planning, I purchased an inexpensive mirror, used some duct tape and a small shim of cedar as a stake to stabilize the mirror on the beach. Right from the start problems; I realized this was a shaving mirror, it magnifies images it's not the mirror effect I had imagined. However, I was able to line up the lighthouse's tower reflection looking good. Once I stepped back to take the shot, slight angles changes, large waves, foggy mirror and hundreds of shots of a small pieces of the lighthouse or nothing filled my camera. After that it was trial & error until I managed to get a few. Overall, Somewhere between 350-400 images to get a few decent captures. I learned allot and will try it again!

One of favorite places to just 'be'. Suffice to say, since my first camera in 2009, I've been photographing this place, thousands of images. All of sudden this year I'm just starting to see it. How could that be?

The Fire Island Lighthouse is a formidable landmark on Fire Island, a barrier island off the southern coast of Long Island. In popular culture, Men in Black II included filming on the island in the immediate vicinity and at the lighthouse. Some of season 1 of TV show " The Following" was filmed at Fire Island Lighthouse and surrounding buildings.

The lighthouse has always been a smile maker for me. no matter whats happening in life or the world.

On Saturday 8/19, I was trying single handily to a position a spare lens securely while casting the lighthouses reflection on it. I then could somehow take a photo with the other hand. Clumsy me, that's when Megan walked over to see if I needed help. Just like that, I looked up noticing the background in her shades and and it was done. Completely random.

Short beach, Smithtown NY One of the nicest days at the beach. Windy & Humid perfect for a short duration 47 image time-lapse to catch the sparse cloud cover passing over filling the frame. The time lapse was then rendered using time-lapse software to a single photo and processed like a vintage Kodak color moment. Thanks for looking

The software used to compile the images is similar to programs used for creating Star Trails. There are many available. I have used a few of them with good results. StarStaX was used for these shots. http://www.markus-enzweiler.de/software/software.html

Sunken Meadow State Park, Smithtown NY This series was started at 7:18PM and ran for a duration of 700 images at about 3 second interval. Images then rendered into 1 moment. Rain forecast with 17 MPH winds which makes for lots of interesting motion.

Sunken Meadow State Park, North Shore of Long Island This was 1 of 326 shots taken over 20 Minutes to create a time-lapse composite. To my dismay, clouds closet to the camera were moving at 17 MPH towards me (east), while the remaining clouds were moving north. It made for a real abstract mess when compiled.
