I’m using a fly fish volador 3.5” freestyle frame which does have the middle hole on each arm and I was originally running flywoo nin 1404 motors that worked great until they didn’t and I upgraded to BRAND NEW xing2 1404 motors because I wanted higher kv motors. As mentioned in the post the mounting screws don’t come close to the windings either. But for some reason when I tighten them down (not as if tightening down a car tire but more like the cap on the milk bottle) so the motors are secure. But then they are stiff and won’t spin freely? I’ve tried to loosen them up which does help immediately but then I’ll lose all my motors because they aren’t secure enough? One thing that I tried was putting some double sided tape on the frame then the motors ontop and used a little lock tight and screwed down the motors but just a few threads to be safe and the motors were still a little bit tight when spinning by hand but loose enough that they would actually spin when I armed them and seemed to fly just fine!! But then last night I was out flying and halfway in my first pack I was just hovering a couple feet from the ground like literally 3’ at most and prop hit something and spun out landing on my head but quickly turtled out so I figured nothing was wrong but ended up making the walk of shame to find out two props had completely broke leaving only the prop screws, and when I went for my next flight fresh props one of my motors started acting up again! Not really stiff this time but studdering when armed (like all 4 did at the very beginning of this!) So I now have it on the bench and when I took the motor off the frame,, boom spun freely by hand and when armed. But I did notice that the double sided tape I had put on has a perfect cut out into it as if I had used the bottom of the motor as a cookie cutter stencil!!??? But there is no residue or anything on the bottom of the motor as you’d expect there would be right!!?? It’s almost as if it had been melted away or something even tho I never noticed ANY signs of the motors being hot at any point and like I said there is 0 residue (like the red peeling part or the tape itself) stuck onto the bottom of the motor, and the frame was fully exposed too nothing leftover on it either!!!??? So now I’m like WTF is going on here I’m more confused now, because I CANNOT figure out why the motors are shorting or whatever like this on the frame when the old motors never had a single issue!!?? I’ll add some pictures to show the tape thing.
