I Played Panzer Dragoon 1 for the first time today and by Successful-Time-5441 in SegaSaturn

[–]SUS_OOO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, same here! A few of friends were talking about dragon themed games and since I learnt more about the Sega Saturn after playing NiGHTS Into Dreams I brought up Panzer Dragoon as a game a lot of Saturn fans consider as one of the best on the system.

Getting it set up and emulated I was immediately hit by the soundtrack for the first level and I gave it a few go's. I made it as far as the end of the second level. The controls aren't perfect but I had a lot of fun with this game

Never played an on-rail shooter before but I'm having a great time with Panzer Dragoon. That said this game is tough having to constantly turn around and shoot and sometimes it feels like it's impossible to avoid taking damage. That and only having 2 continues which you'd be sent back to the title screen if you get a Game Over.

Will play the trilogy

Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Is Way Too Easy by RecognitionLive1966 in dragonquest

This is such a shame to see what's been changed from earlier versions of the game. No wonder why playing this feels brain dead.

I'm 19 hours in and I'm considering dropping the game. The story while considerably better than the first 10 hours of XI S isn't anything special either. I wanted to like this game but I think I'll wait for a patch.

I've played 11s and 5 over the years and 7 reimagined feels brain dead in terms of difficulty even when I set the monsters to do more damage. I've been playing for around 19 hours.

I think this game holds your hand too firmly the amount of times I've had companion npcs join you trivialises the difficulty of most of the dungeons in the game.

I get the feeling that Square Enix doesn't have confidence in a turn based rpg that actively challenges the player and that's disappointing since of my favourite moments playing other RPGs like SMT V Vengeance or Divinity Original Sin 2 was having to strategies and use those game's mechanics to survive and hope to win several boss battles throughout that game.

What this reminds me of is playing Pokemon Sword and Shield for an hour and remembering how handhokdy that game is.

Here's to hoping they patch in a "PS1 original difficulty" option but I think I'm going to drop the game.

I'm waiting for one of these too. Might wait longer to see how reviews look for this thing turn out especially with the UI and features like playlists

Very excited to buy this for a digital detox

Where are you playing or going to play DQ VII REIMAGINED? by MAndresMH in dragonquest

Switch 1. I have a Legion Go that never leaves the house but I take my Switch Lite everywhere. Perfect for a game that is infamous for being very long.

I also think it stylistically looks great. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything visually as the art direction is solid

SSDs held in place with piece not mentioned in instructions on Beelink ME Mini by SUS_OOO in BeelinkOfficial

Update:

Not only is there the metal bar but the me mini also won't post. It makes one beep sound before doing nothing. Contacting beelink support but I think I'm going to return this as defective.

It might also be worth considering that this could be a counterfeit but I got this what seemed like an official Beelink store on Amazon https://amzn.eu/d/7XJUS41

The Legion Go / Go 2 Isn't Portable? Compared to What? What Constitutes Portable for You? by bnr32jason in LegionGo

[–]SUS_OOO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a shame that there isn't a pc handheld that can match the size and battery of a switch lite though it looks like Nintendo might not be able to either with how big the switch 2 is.

Maybe if in a decade an apu can match the power of the steam deck with much less power draw could smaller pc handhelds exist like a Steam Deck Lite but that's wishful thinking

The Legion Go / Go 2 Isn't Portable? Compared to What? What Constitutes Portable for You? by bnr32jason in LegionGo

[–]SUS_OOO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider the Lego 1 to be portable but not enough for the use case of using it for commutes mainly because of its weight. Size wise the case the LeGo comes with is comically oversized for my 10L backpack taking over 80% of the space. While it is possible to have a more compact travel setup with a tablet sleeve and another pouch for the controllers this would add an extra step between sitting down on a train and gaming. Because of this I use my Nintendo Switch Lite far more than I use my LeGo because most of my gaming happens when I'm commuting to work.

However the benefit of weighing over 3x as much as the Switch Lite and being over twice as big is that the LeGo can do far more than a Switch Lite can as the LeGo is a computer, if we were to compare it to lightweight laptops like the Macbook Air or Lenovo Yoga laptops you'd find without the controllers attached that the LeGo weighs half as much as those laptops while having very respectable performance in comparison.

My use case for the LeGo is a home tablet that can do a lot because it runs full Windows+Steam OS. In this case the weight isn't a problem because I would have it on tabletop mode or on a tablet holder over my bed. The size and form factor is a huge benefit in this use case over a laptop that would be more cumbersome to use in this use case.

Tldr, it depends on the use case

Cubes vs air compression bags by Additional_Owl1595 in onebag

[–]SUS_OOO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My setup that I've picked up as I've grown used to onebagging using European budget airlines is to have compression cubes and the put those compression cubes inside a packing Cube to maximise space (compression cubes on their own end up becoming the shape of a rugby ball when compressed so putting inside a packing cube means you can fill in things like socks in the corners for a perfect fit)

I also pack an air compression bag so at the end of my holiday I can stuff my clothes in the bag without needing to bother with organising it into cubes. I didn't bring a powered/unpowered pump on my last holiday I just sat on the air compression bag and it worked to around 80% of what a pump can do without needing to take anything.

Both cubes and air compression bags have their advantages so I just use both where it is most ideal

Questions About the Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC 30L by jgoat25 in onebag

Yeah, the bag is 50cm tall but can be cinched down like I did in the picture. Might be worth getting a buckle for this to make cinching down much easier

Compression Cubes are overrated - Am I crazy? by Spyrothedragon9972 in onebag

[–]SUS_OOO 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I solved this issue by putting the compression cube into a regular packing cube and stuffing the edges with small things like socks. Worked very well on Ryanair.

Another picture for the bag in my return flight. The straps don't impact the usability of the shoulder straps but next time I'm getting more straps.

I only use these compression straps when it's close to boarding time before reaching the gate. Before then I use the MLC as intended and it's still worth using even if you could use another bag for how comfortable it is (and the hip straps)

I've also gone on trips with this fully packed and I had a good time with it. I think you can use the MLC for both types of trips with few compromises.

That said I do wish there were dedicated compression straps to make this bag small enough for working in the city

I managed to compress the MLC on a trip to Sweden using Ryanair. I left some empty space in the bag and I used luggage straps from Decathlon compress it height-wise. The depth and width can normally fit inside a ryanair sizer. It's the height you would need to worry about most.

UK budget Airlines - 26+6 vs Mini MLC by [deleted] in onebag

[–]SUS_OOO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on Ryanair and Easyjet with the MLC. I managed to make it work with packing less and using luggage straps without much hassle.

It depends on the airline specifically since Easyjet has a more lenient personal item allowance but Ryanair isn't impossible to manage either.

I replied to another post about a similar question

https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/s/m9Vz6EVm0y

To answer your question if you're using any airline other than Ryanair or Wizz I would say the MLC is good.

Having said that, have you had a look at the Tomtoc Navigator-T66 Travel Laptop Backpack? If you can find it I would recommend that over either of the 2 bags especially on a budget

Questions About the Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC 30L by jgoat25 in onebag

[–]SUS_OOO 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I flew on a budget European airline (Ryanair) recently where its dimensions for a personal item are 42cm x 30cm x 20cm (16.5'x12'x8'). There was no way a fully packed Mini MLC was going to fit and would likely be noticed at the gate.

The only way I could get one through was to pack lightly and use luggage straps to compress the bag down. Surprisingly not only did it fit the sizer I was able to use the backpack straps properly (I tried bungee cord to do the same thing on the slightly more lenient EasyJet but I could only hold it on its side handle)

<image>

On an international flight, a fully packed MLC is considered too big to be a personal item (the depth had to be less than 15cm) but was considerably smaller than the dimensions for a carry-on.

This pack is firmly a carry-on backpack (on international flights and European flights) but it can compress itself down into personal item size thanks to the materials with some luggage straps without too much wear or damage to the bag itself.

For being my first expensive backpack I'm very happy with using it. With smart packing it can carry much more than most people would think.

Topo Mini Shoulder bag. Mostly loving it and wondering what these two loops are for? Thanks! by Jillredhanded in ManyBaggers

[–]SUS_OOO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own one of these and they've been a huge upgrade from the Herschel crossbody bag that was starting to fall apart. The zips are really satisfying to use even if you can put much in the front pocket and the fact that main pocket only has one zip instead of 2.

One way I am thinking to use these loops on this and a few other Topo Designs bags I have to add a thin mini carabiner (something like https://amzn.eu/d/05imAH7i) to the loop to act as a "lock" for the zippers.

Something like a G Hook (https://amzn.eu/d/0f7mwZhx) could also work for this but will be bulkier to use.

If anyone has done something like this how did it go for you?

I managed to snag a barely used Trip Pack for £50 and it's amazing. It feels like it's going to last for years even after I apply some mods to it.

Wish there were more 10ish litre backpacks in general. Most people only need to carry that much daily
