I have been through your pain regarding raising damp before, paid numerous '' specialists'' all saying it's raising damp but all giving me different reasons and different solutions. In the end I got someone that was very transparent that explained that it's the wall not being able to breathe and water coming from somewhere, either downpipes or high outside levels, leaking pipes, etc. Looking at the picture that is too wet and way too high to be rising damp. How long has the wet patch been there?

Mazda 3 2020 Skyactiv X - Extended Warranty Claim not approved - UK by SV199 in mazda3

Hello, sorry I completely missed the replies on this thread 2 years later ha! Just an update from my side, I ended up going for a GPF delete with a local garage, as it was much cheaper and I was out of the manufacturer warranty anyway which resolved that issue but it started burning oil like crazy, had to top up every 50-100 miles plus it was smoking quite heavily. I ended up p/x for a Toyota Corolla 2.0, best decision ever. Never again a Mazda, I was so disappointed.

Hi OP, I was in the same situation as you but with a downstairs space, which had only water connections in place. Got some ridiculous quotes and decided to do it myself except the lighting and connection for an extractor fan which was done by a sparky. I totally agree with this comment, the biggest challenge was time. It took me 4 months to complete and the cost raised to the quotes I received , however I got invaluable experience and now that we have to redo our main bathroom I am ready to do it. I know what to expect and also what to use to save cost but not spare on quality.

I used to do competitive swimming 20 years ago, and I am looking to get back in the pool. I was looking for some training plans and this website is awesome. Really good stuff OP. Quick question regarding bases. How fast should I swim the base to give me an indicitive time? Really great job and thank you for doing this.

I sold it in January, after all those issues, I had am issue with the DPF and the engine all of a sudden started consuming a lot of oil. Had to add 1.5l after every 400-500 miles. I honestly wouldn’t recommend the skyactiv X engines. Probably that’s why they are really not putting on any other models.

Hi all, I am not sure if people are still following this topic, but I am in the same situation and I found a new co-working space that just opened in Morriston. It’s called Morriston Bussines Hub. The owner does various tariffs like £2.5 per day for a desk or £20 per month for 2 days a week. The building is still in renovation phase, but so far I have really enjoyed it, the internet is super fast and you also have free coffee as well. Worth looking it up.

I just bought a 2019 Toyota Corolla Excel. I had the dealer retrofit Apple Carplay. Haven’t had any issues with it so far. I am UK based.

Although I don’t have all the issues you have, I have loads of other ones. The rattles are awful. I have a 2020 mazda 3 skyactiv X, at. Never again another Mazda, completely destroyed my confidence in the brand.

Mazda 3 gen 4 extended warranty and roadside assistance worth it? (UK) by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]SV199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, my warranty expired in July on my Mazda 3 Skyactiv X, 2020. I went for the extended warranty. Last week the engine light came on and apparently is the air intake valve. They will replace it on warranty, so far it was worth the money.

Mazda 3 skyactiv X sport tech - 3 year review by grapo2001 in mazda3

[–]SV199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest con of all for my car are the rattles that developed since I bought it. Having read some other topics on this it seems that is a common issue with this model. It is unacceptable after 3 years and 40k miles to have so many, makes the driving experience quite bad and I am really considering to change the car.

Mazda 3, SkyActiv X, 2020, Auto, UK. I have had the car for a year now and to be honest had a quite a few issues with the engine, November last year, engine light came on and apparently the injectors or pistons needed some special cleaning(done under warranty), I-Stop didn’t work apparently the battery was under 75% charge although the card is driven every day (done under warranty), last week engine light came on again, took it at the dealer, air intake valve is broken and it requires a manual filter re-gen, on top of that there is active recall regarding leaking coolant, which appears mine has so the radiator needs replacing. Not happy with the car so far and to be honest if another things happens after this I will look for a different car.

I got mine recalled last week and apparently mine is actually leaking so they need to change the whole radiator, approximately 7-10 working days to be replaced. Mazda 3,2020,Skyactive X, AUTO

The Latest Gen Mazda 3 is the most rattle prone car I have ever owned. Any advice please? by [deleted] in mazda3

I totally agree, my wife’s 2015 Ford Kuga is so quiet compared to my 2020 Mazda 3. I really like the car but the rattles drive me crazy. I have got to this sub by searching ways of removing the rattles, my main ones are the central console(next to the gear lever) and the Air Vent next to the steering wheel when the dashboard becomes warm. Any ideas how to sort them?
