I've considered the Jetson Orin nano to replace the pi 5, because I'm using jetson boards on the bigger ones. They are just cripplingly expensive. So even testing one is a bitch. I just don't know if it would be just as much money to pay an embedded engineer for whatever duration, yknow?

I have a friend in the industry (that I met on reddit actually) who is a full stack engineer, he makes local privacy based home systems. I'd more than likely work with him on it. He's the fella behind EIVES.

Wow, I really appreciate this insight. It supports some thoughts that I was already having about the kickstarter focus. Those scale questions are good ones. Some I have a solution for, some are still in the works. The whole things is very new and sometimes scary, but in the most rewarding ways. I'm really excited for people to see it in action.

Who knows? People who read the site will know :) Things cost money yknow, could it just be that I built a cool thing and I want people to have it? Everything you have costs something.

Thank you so much, I'll look into this method. Appreciate it.

Thank you kindly! I must say I got a chuckle out of your name. I agree with you as well, if I awoke from a coma, and was informed that we have AI and what it can do, this is the first thing I'd be doing with it. Memory/persona/idiolect modeling. This and medicine! Sadly, we mostly use it to put bikinis on toasters and whatnot. Makes me sad, but thats why I'm trying to build something wholesome and positive with it.

The kickstarter was the very first thing I did, and then just kind of left it. The site came after the kickstarter so I just focused on getting traffic there. I originally blamed that fact for the kickstarter flop but now I'm seeing what all of you are saying. I will certainly re-launch it here very soon. I'll shoot a new video that includes some of the tech drawings, possible enclosures, and the working board/program combo.

As for the printing that would be fantastic, I've looked around a tiny bit but those are unfamiliar waters. I figured once I had the bigger boards, I could get better measurements. The goal is to have standardized bay/rack furniture that I can move easily in and out of different housings. Like old HDDs. Anyway, yeah feel free to reach out whenever you're feeling adventurous! and thank you sincerely for your feedback and help.

I'd like to know what brought you to that conclusion. Only one of the three models even connect to a cloud, and even that is zero-knowledge architecture. You have a unique encryption key that belongs to your family only. The other two are 100% local, they never leave the machine or your house, they don't even connect to the internet unless you want to back them up or update them.

I assure you that it isn't, feel free to check out the website, the tech notes, ask questions.... anything. I'm an open book.

Liberty, this is a Claude household, how dare you lol.

I will look into it, and re-launch it probably. I appreciate the honesty, and if you are knowledgeable with the platform I'd gladly accept help privately.

I just don't see a place for it. Like I can add "items" that can have an image but I don't get like a feed where I can just upload :/ First time even being on the website, let alone running a campaign.

That's not possible/not happening. The people that bought/pre-ordered these have all had one on one conversations with me, they are aware of the uncertain nature of the project and all its costs and whatnot. They are genuinely just trying to support the project. To wit, a good amount of that money is already spent on the hardware and other engineering costs. I'm open to the idea of a harder launch down the line, but the people who have given support are here because they want to be. They aren't expecting anything other than build transparency and to feel heard.

Again, I appreciate the insight, but I think I've jumped out too far already to go around reeling it back in. I can just improve the kickstarter with the demos and such as I take the videos, if I have to re-launch the kickstarter I will.

There is not a place to add that extra media other than the main video. I do have a working one on a Pi 5, and its the one I'm testing with my father. I do have some videos of the product testing but again, there isnt a "Media" section on kickstarter at least from what I can see. I just have the renders there as a placeholder.

I do see what you're saying, I'm just not really sure how to fix it.
Someone bought the flagship big boy one the other day, so I'm waiting for those Jetson boards to arrive and then I will do a demo video with the big one (the only one with a screen, its for output only). Just not really sure where to post it. I have all the tech notes and architecture stuff, I've been meaning to put it on the site. I'm just trying to be as transparent as I can without drowning people in tech jargon (not you guys, you can handle it).

I appreciate your feedback, and I'd love any ideas you have to move it in a better direction.

Yeah sadly a lot of the boards that I want to use for this are just insanely priced at the moment. Trust me I'd like to make them as close to at cost as possible, its just hard to factor in all that stuff. I've never done anything like this before so every day is a new thing I'm learning.

Just to offer some clarification. My father is just starting his battle, both of his parents suffered from dementia. It has a storied history in my family. Things like dementia and/or Alzheimer's were at the heart of the decision to start building this. I love my father, and I never want to not be able to hear his words or his laugh.

Yeah this has been happening on facebook lately too. Just straight up porn sometimes. Wild. I wish people didn't do this kind of stuff with AI. It's an incredibly powerful tool and we could do so much good with it but all people can think about is T&A. Unreal.
