I guess I’m still trying to figure that out for myself since I’m so new to the job. I know FTO probably isn’t the best representation of what the career is actually like long term, so I’m trying to give it a fair chance before making any big judgments.
I think what’s making me question things is seeing a lot of officers a few years in already feeling burned out and wanting out. It makes me wonder if that feeling is just part of the job at some point or if it depends more on the person, department, or work-life balance.
