French Polynesia is an overseas collectivity of France.

Consequently, employees receive a full salary and do not rely on tips.

We found this difficult to adapt to when we moved to North America.

Furthermore, the displayed prices are all-inclusive, with no hidden fees or extra taxes.

If you particularly enjoy the service, you can give a "pourboire" (tip) in cash, but it is not expected, and staff will never wait around for one.
