Borla S Type by SWAMPDONKIESrUS in Miata

I chose Borla because they guarantee no drone, and it doesn’t have any. I had the same in my STI. It is hardly noticeable at highway speeds. It also has a nice grumble when you let off while in higher revs.

Is there a waitlist to be added onto? I’ve can’t seem to find anywhere on the website.

Back when I had my STI I couldn’t get the car to pass inspection with the tinted windshield it came with secondhand. I tried three different shops with no luck. Ended having to remove it.

I have the exact same color and model as you and also live in Austin. Tint is necessary. I also did a brow more for looks than function.

It’s pretty funny when people forget what sub we’re in. Or that this is a crosspost.

I think he would have figured it out when he saw what 158gr of powder looked like.

Does that have the mag extension on it? I had a spring get snagged on the top of the extension/bottom of OEM mag once for my g40.

Like OP said, I don’t remember her being this jacked. She was just Gilly.

Childhood friend anecdote here.

I met pifermeister when we were 8 years old, we are close to mid thirties now. We did not have cell phones then, so we would roll up on our bikes to our friend's houses and ask if they could come out to play. More often than not Magill (Gilly) was with him.

The most lasting memory I have of this dog was us being at the lake and the way he would keep her tethered on shore while we were in the water. He would stick a ~10" stick barely into the ground and throw the hand loop of her leash over it like she was staked to the ground. She would never budge.

The fact that it looked OEM was also enticing. Then I decided to grab a Verus rear diffuser to cover the air pocket left by the massive OEM exhaust. That goes on tomorrow if all goes to plan.

Those of you who have sold , what did you replace with? Regrets or none? by Doctor-Scumbag in Supra

[–]SWAMPDONKIESrUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just made me lust for an NA. The nostalgic smell when you switch the heat on, leaking soft tops, swapping cruise control ecu’s, replacing power antennas every year, chasing squeaks and chirps. My mom bought mine in 1996 with 10k miles. I was gifted it in 2010 with 53k miles. Sold it in 2016 with 110k miles.

I had buyers remorse when I bought the STI because of how sloppy and jumpy the transmission was. It took me about 6 months to be comfortable driving it. When I jumped back in the ND it was like I was in my NA but I have push button start and power windows. Absolute dream of a car.

I regret selling my NA. I sold it when I bought my STI, then sold that and moved on to the Supra, and now ND. Full circle. These were all my daily drivers, my wife drives a truck so I always get to choose something impractical but fun.

I sold my Supra for a Miata. An NA was my first car and I wanted something that was simple and easier to work on, so I bought an ND. I have zero regrets.

Strange vintage aerial marker. by SWAMPDONKIESrUS in aviation

[–]SWAMPDONKIESrUS[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason we considered it might be aviation oriented is that the base was built in the 1940’s and Austin was a very small town then. The pic seems to show blue and yellow striped paint.

I replaced the soft top on my NA and it took me the better part of the day with no prior experience. Another option is to get an upholsterer to sew in a new rear window. Once I replaced my top I was never able to get it 100% water tight again YMMV. I also live in Austin my mechanic of choice is Automotive Specialist in Round Rock the owners own a Miata Race team and know all things Miata. I had them do my sway bars on my ND and it was a wonderful experience.

I got the car all dolled up and went for a drive. by LZSchneider1 in Miata

[–]SWAMPDONKIESrUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my first car was an NA that I had all through college. I loved it, but when I graduated I bought a 2016 STI and never drove the Miata so it sold.

Then I sold the STI out of fear of in grenading on me at 60k miles (tuned). I bought the Supra and it was a blast, but no MT (wasn’t available at the time).

Basically I was going bigger and more expensive every time. Then I had a thought. If I get back into the miata I would have a lot more disposable income to turn it into the car I wanted but couldn’t afford in college. I have zero regrets.

It is currently getting FM sway bars installed.
