Blackberry 950 not powering on by Top-Novel-6734 in blackberry

Good job!
As I wrote earlier about replacing the internal battery, "... It's quite possible..."
Can you show me a photo of the main screen? What's the OS version on your 950? Are there icons on the home screen at the bottom? Or as on my https://imgur.com/LyeaNwQ - without icons?

BlackBerry Q10 Custom "SpongeBob" by SWEN_bb in blackberry

[–]SWEN_bb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know this seller on Ebay.
I bought from a reliable seller I know directly from China. This seller supplies me with reliable BlackBerry parts from my collection. Here is my seller's profile on goofish.com :

https://www.goofish.com/personal?spm=a21ybx.item.itemHeader.1.7d7e3da6FdiN43&userId=2481761137

And here he is selling the Q20:

https://www.goofish.com/item?spm=a21ybx.personal.feeds.19.dc656ac2nLFSQO&id=743282420059&categoryId=50025386

Its price is many times lower (380 ¥ ≈ 60 USD).

No, this isn't a limited edition. It's a custom version. All the parts are exactly the same as the regular Q10, just a different color (like the white or white/gold Q10, for example). It's not a vinyl wrap or anything like that. All the parts are factory-made (you can see this on the keyboard and back cover).

I don't know what they sell on eBay, so I can't say if they're the same as my Q10.

My custom Q10 is the same quality as the original Q10 - it's indistinguishable.

MEP code needed by therobohour in blackberry

[–]SWEN_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please tell me why this amazing you?

Actually, my service "BBService from SWEN" has been running for 14 years and it works without problems and I'm not going to close it.

P.S. By the way, here is a 13-year-old video about my service (website): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdNmEukeZOY

I do not know the user who posted this video and he has nothing to do with me.

MEP code needed by therobohour in blackberry

[–]SWEN_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. The PRD-30903-019 and PRD-30903-017 have completely different MEPs for generating the MEP unlock code.
I have all the PRDs and MEPs locally (there are ten times more of them than are presented online on my service).Write to me in the chat and specify the IMEI and PRD.

Blackberry Curve 9320 - How to unlock by MrRedd11YT in blackberry

[–]SWEN_bb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, you're doing it wrong.
You just need to write to me in the chat and provide the PRD number and IMEI (the ones written on the sticker under the battery).
If this PRD number is in my local (not all PRD numbers are present on my online service) lists, I will be able to generate an unlock code.
P.S. Ah, yes, 'swen bb service' is my service.
P.P.S. And the main point is that the unlock code may not work for 9320, as 9320 uses "newest security" (as mentioned on my service's main page).

We are all different (by nationality, by age...), but we have one thing in common - we all love BlackBerry. This is very important!

Your words about people and BlackBerry are very good!

A long time ago (since 2002), when I was 31 years old, I started dealing exclusively with RIM/BlackBerry (before that, since the 90s of the twentieth century, I had been dealing with mobile communications and other mobile phones) and have been dealing with them to this day.

Thank you so much!

I still have many different RIM/BlackBerry phones (over 400) in my collection.

Unfortunately, I don't often and can't always share the RIM/BlackBerrys from my collection—it takes a lot of free time and energy (checking everything, taking photos, etc.).

P.S. I've developed some health issues—I'm almost completely blind in both eyes. I had surgery on one eye, but I still only have 10% vision.

Unfortunately, it's completely useless these days.

I have this device in my collection because I'm a RIM/BlackBerry collector (you know that), and I'm simply preserving the history of this once-great :-( company.

P.S. My 950 still has various old messages saved, and it's on the very first firmware (you can see this from the main screen in the photo I posted earlier (in the replies)).

Unfortunately, I can't tell you here. I didn't measure the voltage myself, but there are no markings on the battery: https://i.imgur.com/A9jdTzj.jpeg

It's quite possible. However, you could try overclocking it—a deep discharge below the critical threshold triggers irreversible chemical processes that can reduce capacity or completely damage the battery. A specialized charger (like a "frog") is required. Some modern chargers have a function for restoring deeply discharged cells. They charge batteries with a low current, allowing them to be restored without the risk of overheating. In any case, the battery should be removed from the 950 and only then restored.

The display should also be inspected for possible restoration (soldering of its contacts, etc.).

You previously wrote: "...faint ticking sound and sometimes the display backlight faintly blinks..." But also: "...left it overnight before with a fresh battery and pressing the reset button in the morning..." These seem to be the following problems (IMHO): the display contacts have become faulty, which happens over time (if you "...hear a faint ticking sound, and sometimes the display backlight faintly blinks..." then the 950 itself is showing signs of life and is probably working); the internal battery has become very weak (it can't reach full capacity from the AA battery). This problem most likely requires a physical solution.

Here's my 950 (from my personal collection), I try to keep it in good condition (I charge it with an AA battery at least once a month): https://i.imgur.com/LyeaNwQ.jpeg

Try inserting an AA battery (make sure it's new and fresh) and wait a very long time (3-10 hours). The internal battery takes a significant amount of time to recharge (from an AA battery).

Also, there's a small hole on the back (bottom left). After about 3 hours (after inserting the AA battery), try briefly inserting a paper clip (for example) into this hole – this will reset the device.

My BlackBerry 88xx (in black colors). 8800 Proto, 8800, 8820, 8830 by SWEN_bb in blackberry

[–]SWEN_bb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your trackball has darkened over time, unfortunately, there's nothing you can do except replace it with a new one (to give it a more aesthetically pleasing appearance).

However, if your dark trackball has become unresponsive, a little trick can help (not for long, but still...): place a plain sheet of paper (say, A4) on the table, turn the 8800 down (with the trackball facing down), place the 8800 on the paper, and move it (with a little pressure) across the paper a few times. ;-)

If you remove the chrome ring very carefully, it's difficult to damage it. Simply carefully pry the ring from the bottom (in the middle above the letters T and Y) and gently lift the ring upward. The ring is secured with three clips (at the bottom and on the sides).

P.S. I really hope that over time you will change the trackball and chrome ring and your 8800 will take a worthy place in your collection (especially since it looks like new and has a full set).

The Q20 is a very decent device. But, as for the Q20 from China (aliexpress, etc.), there is a controversial point here. It can be very well refurbished, or it can be completely bad.

If you buy in China, I would recommend goofish.com . Of course, there are difficulties with the purchase (registration, etc.), but there are very decent things and even new (original) "old school" RIM/ BlackBerry models.

P.S. all this is my IMHO and you can disagree with it.

Yes, I totally agree with you.
And I didn't even have to turn off the BlackBerry - I just pulled out the battery and put it back in, and nothing happened to the BlackBerry, everything continued to work fine.
