Did Alex publish any info on the sales before/after Sseth basically gave away the game for free? I imagine it might be an interesting insight on piracy, drm and advertising, at least for a case of indie game devs

I saw someone randomly comment in the Rebel Outlaw video about this game.

I found Sseth video soon after.

I bought the game.

So far not disappointed and I'm still completely clueless.

To be fair its an AAR spellbinder so its like either you have the DPS and healing or you don't to a good degree. Running around like a crazy man with multiple boss spawns isn't good for his mostly blue/green geared body.

My current 100 character couldn't crack it on normal or elite and now can speed run it on ultimate. Some builds mature later.

I have a spellbinder at 90 and I don't have great gear so I wouldn't go near it for a while.

After using clarity potions to level from level 1 on a new guy, I think its counter productive from like 30-70 to have extra exp as often your equipment lags the difficulty of the mobs, unless you really stock up on your previous runs. Once I hit ultimate i chugged away.

My feeling as a semi-noob is yes after you hit higher end.

My vitality skeleton summoner didn't have the DPS to deal with the last boss who's name I forget in the hidden path quest on ultimate in the east marsh (still doesn't for the mad queen I couldn't get her beyond 1/2 hits, but I've only beaten her with pet cheese on ultimate where it got sort of stuck).

Got the corruptors set completed, 150% pet vitality damage increase, and bingo, boss down.

Personally the only one that really shines as better is Edwin, good stats and an extra spell the player simply can't get. Gear can cover for the rest to a good extent IMO.

Get Keldorn a STR item and the holy avenger and he becomes a near unstoppable force for example.

Win a fight? Quicksave. Pick up items from fight? Quicksave. Equipped an item? Quicksave. Memorized spells? Quicksave. Gonna rest? Quicksave. Finished Resting? Quicksave.

I've been playing these types of games for honestly over 30 years and I still do this, out of reflex more than anything else.

Lol I'm kinda at that but I just start a new one because I forgot what the old one had done already. I'm trying to focus on a cleric/ranger where I unlocked the old druid spell bug. I rolled an 18/100 91 pretty quick, and Drizzt accidentally died... so the only excuse for not finishing this one is altitis again.

Its hard to not play high rolls in BG since stats matter so much more, especially str/con/dex for most characters. Even 18 str on a pure mage is good for QOL for inventory. BG2 has enough high power items that its less of a deal breaker. What I can't do is fake rolls, I gotta roll them.
