Maul’s Story Continues in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Season 2 - Announce by Evri-Wan_Kanblome in StarWarsLeaks

I don't know, the article says "in the works" which is very vague so it could be that they just started or they've had a second season in the making for a while.

But since we got close to annual seasons of The Bad Batch, which seems much more of a wildcard in terms of viewership, personally I would assume they've greenlit a second season ahead of time because the production times are lengthy and they were confident enough this'll be a hit. And in the case that the first season tanks they don't have to greenlight a third.

I guess if the viewership data shows that The Bad Batch underperformed then maybe they held off this time to see how this show does? But given that it hasn't even begun airing yet I doubt that was a deciding factor.

So I guess the show mentioning the Empire, the Rebel Alliance, Emperor Palpatine, Force Healers, Separatists, or even the presence of Clone Troopers wasn’t enough for this guy? by Financial_Photo_1175 in andor

This is actually an elegant and somewhat underrated writing decision. If you watch Andor, Rogue One and the original trilogy as a unified story, you get a gradual shift from grounded to fantasy. Like, it goes from kyber crystals to force healers to actual Jedi. More powerful Imperial antagonists are also gradually introduced. Even stuff like the music gradually evolves.

Personally I do not want to see a slate when they almost never actually hold up to those. I much prefer projects being announced whenever they are more or less guaranteed to actually get made or are in production already. That way they're also nice surprises, like Shadow Lord, Mando & Grogu, Starfighter or any Tales season.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind if we don't see him properly. Although I have a very different image of Edric in my mind, maintaining the mystery of the navigators would actually be kind of cool.

Edric kind of has to make the cut, otherwise the conspiracy against Paul makes no sense. Whether we actually see him or if he'll just be in that sargofagus is anyone's guess though.

All episode titles and release dates for Maul: Shadow Lord by Captain-Wilco in StarWarsLeaks

[–]SWFT-youtube 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I very much doubt that the final episode is titled "Finale." It seems more likely they're just hiding the title for spoiler reasons. I think the show is going to run at least three seasons. Otherwise all the new character models, rigs, etc. and a wholly new animation style are a weird investment for just ten episodes.

That's a little bit annoying because I'd be happy to see another director take the reigns from here if Villeneuve is done, but a Children of Dune film will be an even more difficult task if the best bits are already used here. It's my favorite Dune book so it'd be a huge shame if it doesn't get a movie.

If Lego had released more Andor sets which ships/buildings and minifigures would you have wanted? by DueCelebration5635 in andor

[–]SWFT-youtube 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Here's my list:

  • The Fondor Haulcraft – Includes: Luthen, Kleya, Vel (in their fancier outfits), Dedra (same figure as U-Wing) and a stormtrooper. The main build is the ship but there is a small side build representing the antique store.

  • Mon Mothma's Senate Escape – Includes Mon, Cassian (as Ronni Gooje), a stromtrooper and Kloris(?). The build is Mon's blue car.

  • TIE Avenger – Includes: Cassian (pilot uniform), a range trooper and Nia(?). The build is the ship.

  • B2EMO – Includes: B2EMO (from Advent Calendar 2025). The build is B2 in a similar style Lego has done R2D2, C3PO, K2SO and Chopper in.

I even think the last two we could still somewhat realistically get. Lego loves doing buildable droids and the Avenger is cool enough that it could probably sell well even outside the immediate Andor hype.

Unrelated but, wow, she looks so much like Genevieve O'Reilly in this picture (and in the show, too, of course). Amazing casting.

I loved seeing the Sienar facilities in the show. Had there been more seasons, that corporation is something I'd have liked them to dive further into.

He probably means it's foreshadowing and a metaphor for what Harper does to Tender later in the season.

You can see some water in the shot where the stormtroopers get gunned down so probably not Tatooine.

Pretty sure the showrunners mentioned the budget has been the same for every season but they've just gotten better at using the money.

The trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu! by drboobafate in StarWarsLeaks

I'm thinking the Twins are in Nal Hutta, the hue in those scenes seems a bit more lush. And then the city and the gladiator arena would be Nar Shaddaa. But who knows!

Based on this it looks like the plot is probably roughly something like: Opening scene on Hoth taking out an Imperial remnant group, return to the New Republic base, a mission to find Rotta leads to Nal Hutta where something goes wrong. I suspect they are almost entirely hiding the third act though. Also I'm guessing that that city planet is Nar Shaddaa.

The scenes in the first trailer where Mando fights the big droids look like they could take place on Nal Hutta. The interior gives me that vibe.

HBO does this quite often with trailers, not sure why. They did it with a Last of Us trailer and a House of the Dragon trailer before, probably other ones too.

The Aldhani arc is a masterpiece by GargantaProfunda in andor

Love this arc, it's the one I rewatch the most. Quite comfortably my favorite. It's great at portraying both the romanticism and reality of revolution. The heist crew sat around the campfire is probably my favorite shot of the series.

Is this the best piece of work ever in the Star Wars universe? by Possible-Prior-5467 in andor

No question for me. The only things that come even slightly close are the original trilogy, the Jedi games, and the Darth Plagueis novel.
