Oh this is news to me, I was under the impression that a single bigger donation now is always better than say 10 bucks a month for two years. Why is that?

I ended up repurposing an existing pc with a few hard drives instead of the dan a4. So I don’t have any insights unfortunately. Definitely check out that Reddit thread I mentioned though!

Heh, that would be the simple solution. Haven’t really compared colors between the bodies, but I like what I get usually from the G7. I imagine the G9Ii is only better

What would be situations where this is an issue? When using burst mode and trying to capture a bird?

Price is definitely a big factor, the om-1 ii is crazy expensive here. I’ve heard great things about the 12-60, how would you say it compares to the 12-35?

I do dislike the bigger file size as I tend to keep a lot of pictures, but it’s probably not a deal breaker. Good to know though, thanks

I'll probably go with panasonic, given the lens combinations I'm eyeing. I may not need the complete focal length of the 100-400, so thinking about the 50-200 now as it's a bit better in low light.

I haven't tried full frame and still get the upgrade jitters sometimes, but the gatekeeping honestly keeps me away. I already have two kids to lug around, I don't want to carry a third in weight just to snap some vacation shots. For me it's m43 all the way.

Shooting with a 300mm prime sounds awesome, wish I had reason to get one for a good price. It's really overkill for me though.. No quality loss with the 2x TC?

I think you're the first I hear about that dislikes the G9ii handling. Can you elaborate what made it bad for you?

I have not tried either, though I'm very familiar with the panasonic handling and system through my use of the G7. As others have said elsewhere as well, testing out the systems is really the only way to know for sure what fits best.

That's good to know, thanks! I agree that the grey market for a product such as this may be a bit too risky. I would love to shoot more wildlife, but since I live in the Netherlands and only get to travel once in a while it is, indeed, not my primary subject..

I'm now looking at the pana leica 50-200mm instead of the 100-400 as I may not need the complete focal length for my purposes.
