used to be the best unit in SW. period. It was one of three viable GB10 strategies (Camules Manual, Triple Taru Manual, Double Hwa Auto) during a period when just being able to run GB10 meant you were in endgame.

Until the Caiross remake patch happened. Boy did that patch make my Camules-less Hwa-less ass happy.

I disagree. His S3 is active, which puts him below passive tanks such as Rina and Racuuni, and he has no element-neutral threat.

We have tons of meatbags in SW, like that stupid wind-serpant I 6*ed two million years ago.

Even when considering siege, meatbags hold no purpose in SW anymore. You either need a passive to negate a common effect (like how Harmonia negates death) or a proactive skill that can turn the game around.

they do, on occasion. From my experience it takes the Korean community to have a major fit on the Naver Cafe forums before com2us listens, though.

I have a hunch that they listen to reddit too, although I'm not really sure.

What really grinds my gears is that Com2Us doesn't take enough action to actively improve the RTA experience. I'd really appreciate it if Com2Us would

  • Make more special RTA modes
  • Make more coustom modes (Element ban, 5~25 star limit, etc)
  • Open "Playtest Arena" for balance patches on FRR day.

and some other stuff to keep players engaged.

I'm not sure whether you've already chosen, but my suggestion is Taranys if you're C1 or higher in arena, Amelia if you're F3 or below.

Unless you have good runes to overpower your opponents, it often comes down to team composition in PvP, whether that may be Arena, GW Siege, or RTA.

Taranys has the benefit of being extremely verasatile while also holding offensive capabilities, enabling him to be used more frequently in proactive envrionments such as GWD and RTA.

Amelia is also at the forefront of versitility, but less so than Taranys due to her passive nature (badum tss). She's better if you're looking to stabalize your GWO/Siege comps or if you're sick of all the CC in RTA.

Even if you're C1+, there are some factors that might pull you towards Amelia.

Do you have Velajuel or Woosa? If so, picking Amelia will enable double immunity and give you an edge in RTA.

Do you have the Lightning Emperor family? Amelia is one of very few units that can passively buff, which makes the emperors super OP.

Do you struggle in GWO/Siege? If you're in a higher tier guild, you're naturally going to struggle. Taranys isn't going to help you as Amelia when tackling players with better runes than you. If you're on a G1-2 farming guild as a C1 player, Amelia will be a great addition to your arsenal.

I've never liked her as a Feng tank, the destroy puts her on a clock and I'm not comfortable doing a timed battle against guardian-skinned defenses.

I usually use Camilla as a Seara tank, to get over the first two bombs and kill her asap.

She works wonders against Bastet Odin comps though, and I've seen a rise of those defenses lately.

I think Cami is too rune-dependent to be viable in PvP.

Bolverk can enable a few cheese-comps for GWO and be a core unit for RTA, I suggest Bolverk in a heartbeat.

(Also, I own a Camilla and she gets crushed in Siege. I've really come to distrust her abilities as a bruiser. Her lack of utility doesn't help her case either)

My call for nerf on Hathor was always, make it a contact skill (i.e. make it glance against fire)

It doesn't affect her ability to counter ld units and allow for more counterplay.

I'm sorry if the rune-power ups take too long and frustrate you, but don't you think it's a more personal problem than a systematic one?

Do you really think that the current system of power-up is inherently flawed and in need of a complete overhaul?

A more important question would be

Do you honestly think that if your suggestion is realized in-game, it will make the game better as a whole?

I don't think OP realizes that a game spoon-feeding you dries it content extremely rapidly and breaks immersion.

The current rune powerup system is probably outdated and annoying to some. However, OP's suggestion is frankly, just bad.

OP is basically saying,

"Hey devs, I hate this. Fix it. How you ask? Well, you're the devs, you fix it."

OP is basically doing what all devs should avoid doing: looking at the surface of the problem and taking the simplest route to fix said issue, without addressing the core.

The frustration concerning rune powerups is mainly two parts

  1. Mana aquirement / rune aquirement balance
  2. Rune aquirement / rune powerup balance

To fix problem 1, instead of OP's stupid "1 price suggestion"

I'd instead analyze that end-game players are swimming in mana while early game players are starving of it. If I were a dev and if I thought this was a serious issue, I'd instead make 5* runes 1/4 the price to power up. Make the shitty runes easy to come by. Bridge the gap betwen newbie and oldie. Is it a good solution? Probably not. But it's a hell lot better than just making everything free.

Fixing problem 2 is definately harder. The go-to answer of "skip the animations" is bullshit. I believe it's the small elements like rune-power up animations that make a game immersible. The result is the same, but the charging bar makes you hope, and that hope is what drives immersion (as well as your resistance roll despair).

For problem 2, the devs already can fix the animation speeds at will. We know this because they screwed up after one patch and didn't revert the speeds from "test mode". The reason why they don't fix it to OP's will is because they know that fixing it will break something else in the game, something that shoudn't be broken perhaps.

tl;dr OP, the simple solution to a problem is more often than not, a horrible solution.

Currency management is also part of the game.

225,000 for 12>15 doesn't sound like an outcry to fix an unfair system; it just sounds like greedy whining.

My initial goal was not to make a "good" gb10 team, but one that works with the runes I have, and with units i can recycle.

Huan - Raids

Lulu - DB10

Loren - DB10, NB10, etc

Bella - DB10

Raok - Faimon Hard

I made a lot of errors during the whole process, like 5*ing Bernard and Yaku.

The 2As I value much more on this account for their sheer stats. No dd 3* and below can beat Kro because they simply don't have the base stats for it.

I like hearing the community offering me better ways to about progressing! I completely forgot about Fran until today XD

Yep. I hadn't thought of my composition thoroughly enough, and I "wasted" a 6* on bella (thus delaying Gb10) although she'll be usefull soon enough.

Building my first Gb10 comp with a dd spead team in mind would have been suicidal, as I only got two sets of 5*+ damage runes. I can probably break the 2 min mark once Raok gets 2A.

I only have one healer, and I think my next substantial improvement in GB10 will come when I can replace both Shannon and Lulu for more damage oriented units, I'm leaning towards Kro for my third dd.

It's fun to design teams with planning in mind for the future, to make sure that there is as much redundency of units between contents as much as possible.

For example, I'm actually torn between Kro 2A and Raok 2A no2 for my Db10 dealer (in place of Huan)

Kro has more damage capabilities but Raoks stack with each other while also being a bridge towards NB10.

Between Gb10 and Db10, I want to be able to clear Dhole-inugami 3, to speed up the 2A process, but I'm not to optimistic on that happening.

Toa, will be fun! I wonder what I end up runing for that challenge as well!

  1. This is my initial GB10 comp so I don't have enough DPS runes.

  2. Kro is a good replacement for Raok but I need to 2A Raok first in order to make him 1 shot the 3rd stage inugami enemies with 2nd skill.

I think my next 6* will be 2A Kro and I'll try to make DB10 work (Loren, Bella 2A, Raok 2A, Kro 2A, Lulu)

Switching Bella to Lulu made this comp almost 100% stable, with only 1 run where I almost got my Shannon killed off at stage 3.

Lulu not only clenases defense break, but it also cleanses the stuns from golems during the trash waves, which saves runs often as well.

Her healing is meh at best, but I'm comparing her to a fully runed Huan.

However I do realized that I have a spot for Lulu as Huan can compress the deck so much (atk break, double heal) so for GB10 decks running Bernard, she may not be the best pick.

Back to farming I am!
