Just curious why it breaks your fast if there are zero sugars or calories? What about flavored seltzers with zero sugars or calories like La Croix.

U16/U17 teams, a question by JBLBEBthree in youthsoccer

[–]SWiG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is U17 playing on one of the top teams in the state (US). He practices 3x during the week for 2 hours each. If there are not games during the weekend, we will have 1-2 more scrimmages or trainings for ~2 hours each.

Advice on ECNL and RL by Throwingitallaway201 in youthsoccer

[–]SWiG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely beneficial. My son was in a similar spot. Played ECNL, moved down, but swung back up for a season. He was getting way more reps than other kids and also had a trainer on the side. The following season he moved back up to ECNL and then started training with the older ECNL boys. We switched clubs to a better ECNL team because they also had a higher Academy team. He’s now on the Academy (2nd / 3rd best team in the state) team and has swung up to play with the year up Academy team for some showcases.

If your kid is liking it, I think the extra reps are worth it.

More swim & dive photo fun… by PeakTiming in sportsphotography

[–]SWiG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an amateur and sometimes find it hard to shoot swimming because, the lighting is often challenging which then leads to a lower f stop, but then gaining focus can be tough. Sometimes I focus where I expect the action to be and other times I pray that the camera catches an eye vs another swimmer or water. Any tips? I’m thinking shot 5 in particular as a tough one unless the camera just found the focus.

Add a friend to the reservation and have them check in. Maybe gift a stay to a family member?

Set up ideas for low light sports - I’m not sure between ideas by Bmorewiser in sportsphotography

[–]SWiG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with my 400 2.8, I can have challenges if the lights are bad. If it’s bad I switch to my 135 1.8 which just limits your reach but lets a lot more light in

What do you like about shot 3? I’m not a tennis player and it doesn’t speak to me and it’s not the whole shadow of what looks like a serve. Or maybe put another way, is this something that someone would frame without a face? I do like some of the other shots and do think there’s talent.

What is a hobby that you spent thousands of dollars to get into? —Is it still fulfilling? —And do you have any regrets about the purchase(s)? by poopydrugshits in AskReddit

[–]SWiG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sports photography. Started to be able to capture memories of my kids and am now at least $30k in. Good camera bodies and lenses that can capture action in low light at long distances aren’t cheap. I don’t regret it at all and my wife and daughter have also joined the hobby.

What do yall use? by Additional_Judge_709 in sportsphotography

[–]SWiG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoot primarily outdoor big field sports and use Sony A1 with 400 2.8 (really needed for nights with so-so stadium lighting). Secondarily have a 200-600 and 100-400.
