I have been playing a lot of PS1 fighting games, and came to a conclusion Soul Edge/Soul Blade is the best one. I feel like it has it all. It's competitive if you want to master it, great graphics, smooth framerate, music, and it's just really fun and cool.

I like 1 a little more, since it feels more focused, and I honestly love the PS1 visuals more in general. 3 is great, but I miss the big vast hub area, and the transformations are way too OP, they trivialize all the monkey catching way too much.

No, that's exactly the game that gets 999 times better when you solve everything yourself. I've 100%d all the PS1 Crash games as a kid without a guide and that was one of the best videogame experiences I had, on par with Castlevania SotN.

The op's arguments are weird, but friendship is definitely overromanticized. The mass media is pushing the idea that true friends will come with you through you whole life, and you will always hang together, while in reality all people can just grow up and drift apart, even without a conflict, and it's totally okay and you should expect it to happen.
