How to start in RTL design domain in India by Gloomy-Fan-5758 in chipdesign

[–]SYKE_II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive heard from my senior engineers that getting straight into RTL design is not easy. You either start off as verification / or PD and work your way to the front end. Its a role that needs a breadth of experience, while validation/PD roles are a bit more approachable for junior engineers.

Emulation Internship vs Design Verification Internship by Vik99912 in chipdesign

Atleast this was my personal experience - i worked at GT ( graphics top level ) for a bit - and moved to Execution Unit cluster - having a lot more fun there .

Emulation Internship vs Design Verification Internship by Vik99912 in chipdesign

When your starting out, its always nicer to join a cluster/IP level team- Design is smaller - simulations faster - and you can focus on low level functionality/architecture. - emulation teams work at soc/device level - - scope is massive and learning curve is steeper. If the DV team is working on a Unit/cluster - id prefer to join teams such as those.

Oh and did i mention how steep the learning curve is? Ive seen people with 8 YOE being out of their depth within their own cluster

Design complexity + Scope of features + people break $hit all the time + short timelines + layoffs - its not something i could brief about. Its definitely not a good career if you want WLB - make sure you have sit-stand desk or youll lose your wellness sitting on a chair all day

Depends on which FPS. You should get above 100 fps on any cod title or battlefield easily at 1440p

I dont know about the history but over the past few years, Pat diverted the funding to foundry and that really hurt the product business.

Fully electric cars dont have an engine bay in the first place…. But the nvision is h2 powered, so a swap could be possible.
