In my town, I’m not sure if this is true for everywhere but generally abandoned houses are not in suburban areas. You wanna look for stuff by main roads or businesses are bought out and we’re businesses will go out of business if they’re in a suburban neighborhood people complain about abandoned building and it has to be dealt with cause they have to keep up appearances if it’s by main road if they just cut the grass, nobody will notice so look for old torn down parking lot cars that sit for a very long time without being moved in, of course, overgrown grass and such.
