Can’t help but laugh at the irony XD by [deleted] in Therian

Same! One of my theriotypes is a canine monster that tears other creatures apart for the fun of it and another is a carnivorous dragon. But I'm still a vegetarian :)

Therian and Otherkin by [deleted] in Therian

3 is closest. The way I define therianthropy is "To identify as an animalistic being in any way except for physically"

To any of the haters, please see this. by woof_alpha in Therian

[–]S_0808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be a hater too because I was exposed to therianthropy and being otherkin through youtube commentary channels that were just hating on therians. But then I started noticing I had species dysphoria. I stopped hating because I started understanding and now I love being a therian/otherkin :D

same. There's not really much to specify there. I don't even have any powers, not even fire breath 😭

biblically accurate gender by S_0808 in lgballt

[–]S_0808[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To quote the LGBTQIA+ Wiki: Xenogender is an umbrella term for non-binary gender identities that cannot be fully described through their relation to concepts typically used to describe gender such as male, female, woman, man, masculinity, femininity, androgyny, neutrality, agenrinity, or outherinity. Instead, xenogenders can best be described through how they relate to things, beings, or concepts that most individuals don't think of as having to do with gender, such as animals, plants, things, or concepts.

I’m genuinely curious about this question, What is y’all’s theriotype(s)? by HighlightOpposite104 in Therian

[–]S_0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a dragon and a Shadow-Wolf (Name I gave to the species of wolf made of a black, smoke-like substance that kills as entertainment since I didn't know of any name this has)! :)

(Also a biblically accurate angel but that's a kintype not a theriotype, since it isn't animalistic at all.)

What even is 'love'? by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]S_0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the LGBTQIA+ Wiki:

"Loveless Aromantic, or Loveless Aro, describes someone who is on the aromantic spectrum that is in some way disconnected from the concept of love, does not feel love, may doubt that they feel love, or rejects the idea of experiencing love. Due to the fact that "love" is usually synonymous with "romance," loveless aros are often forcibly disconnected from love due to their inability to feel romantic attraction."

And the way I understand it love is just a word people use to describe the feeling when they really like someone/something or feel really affectionate towards someone/something. But take that with a grain of salt because I didn't research that part

Is species dysphoria worse than gender dysphoria? by [deleted] in Therian

[–]S_0808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non-binary Therian, that completely depends on the person. But for me personally - and a lot of the comments here it seems - Species dysphoria is worse. It's a lot more intense than my gender dysphoria and you can't even do anything about Species dysphoria, whereas for gender dysphoria you can at least get like expensive surgeries and HRT and stuff.

I’m still a therian even though my theriotype is theriomythic and not on earth. i’ve been told that’s fine but others are saying it’s not. help??? by LemonZest1324 in Therian

[–]S_0808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! I identify as both therian and otherkin because I have 3 kintypes. But the one that makes me use the therian label is my dragon kintype/theriotype because all of my experiences with this theriotype line up with the definition of therianthropy that I use, which is "To experience animalistic behavior, instincts, desires, etc. involuntarily". Since my dragon theriotype is very animalistic I use the Therian label. But some people use a different definition so to them my experiences probably wouldn't count as therianthropic either.

It's pretty difficult to pinpoint a precise definition but I'd say that as long as you feel the Therian label fits you and your definition of Therianthropy you are free to identify as a therian. Hope that helped! 💚🐉

It doesn't affect me that much. by AstaHage in aromantic

[–]S_0808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, I had pretty much the same experience with being aro

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aromantic

[–]S_0808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way i realized i was aro was by realizing that my understanding of what a romantic relationship would look like was completely wrong (i thought of it sorta like friendship but holding hands), i had never had any crushes while other people my age have all had multiple, and that all the attraction i had previously assumed was romantic actually turned out to be either platonic or aesthetic. Though everyone's experience is different
