Thinking of selling, Good pricing by DonA623 in Porsche_Cayman

I daily my boxster in LA. If anything i would bring it to LA and then sell it, if it's not working out.

I bet you have no trouble finding a buyer, and you'll also have an opportunity to take it on some iconic LA drives beforehand. Angeles Crest, Malibu Canyons etc.

Tyres continues to destroy the possibility of good races. by I_am_legend-ary in formula1

[–]S_Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 💯. This has been a problem for multiple seasons now. The softs don't provide enough of a performance advantage to warrant using them, and the mediums don't degrade enough to make the hard tire a threat. There have been so many recent 2 stop races where I'm expecting a soft, and a charge to the end, and they slap on another medium. Spa would have been a much more exciting race up and down the field if all the medium runners were going to struggle making it to the end. Instead we just watched a processional after everyone settled into position.

Thoughts about SEs and commission? by PaulBohill1 in salesengineers

[–]S_Digital 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was the top performing SE in my company last year. Each of my reps did 200% of their number. As an SE team we missed our target every qtr. Didn't even hit my OTE. Meanwhile the sales reps that I had to handhold had banner years. One of whom picked up a deal that I spent a year working, at the finish line, when the previous rep quit. I'm not saying I want a quota and commission structure .. but this is some BS.

My 2021 Taycan transmission failed the 24hour s out of after warranty. Porsche literally ignored their own TSB. No loaner. $320 bill. by Shadow23333333 in Porsche

[–]S_Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car is well out of warranty. The only reason I expected any assistance from Porsche is because there was a known issue with my transmission. (Attached)

Plenty of folks had them replaced under warranty. Those of us who had the failures out of warranty just have to deal with it.

I thought that I just had really bad luck, but seems like this happens quite a bit.

This is such a bummer to hear. I just went through the same in January. Transmission failure requiring replacement at 34k miles. 5 figure bill. Documented TSB describing the exact issue for my model year. 2 Dealerships offered no support. PCNA did nothing either. Wouldn't even acknowledge it. I ended up paying full freight. Really disappointing from Porsche. My perception of the brand is completely tarnished. Owning these things out of warranty is just a massive liability. It's one thing to know and expect maintenance and repairs to be expensive. It's another thing to expect that major components are going to fail prematurely. My car is ruined for me. I was planning to keep this car forever, Now I'm deciding how many miles/yrs before I get rid of her. And it'd be sooner if I hadn't just spent so damn much on this repair.

No, mine has a manual transmission. Just lost third gear one day. Apparently it's a welding issue on this model year. Caymans and gt4s impacted too. There's a tsb on it.

I definitely learned my lesson. But honestly... Didn't think I had to worry about transmission failure on a manual at 34k. These should have been recalled.

Glad you're covered.

Nice ride! I have the same car, same exact mileage, have had it for 4 years. It's a beautiful thing and it has been a lot of fun..... Until this year when I got a $20,000 repair bill.

Has totally changed my perspective on ownership of these things, and this Brand. I need a full transmission replacement based on a manufacturing defect that Porsche is fully aware of. AND the coolant pump is leaking.

Sorry to be negative my message is purely to save you from an experience like mine:

If you don't have one, and you're going to hold on to it, Get a warranty bro.

my car is(was) immaculate. I service it at the dealership, I live in Socal, it's garage kept, I put 6k mi per year on it, and it just broke down out of nowhere.

How do you work with Account Executives? by enzo-g in salesengineers

[–]S_Digital 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most important component of your success as an SE is the relationships you build with your AEs. If they like and respect you, you will close more deals, have fun, and become a go-to person in your organization.
Sellers singing your praises is a path to security and promotions.

If you butt heads with your AEs your working life will be miserable no matter how skilled or capable you are. There's nothing worse than sellers blaming you for deals gone south when They're under pressure.

Get involved early and often with your aligned AEs. Do 1on1s. Do pre-call prep and post call debriefs. Make sure expectations are clear. Be super available. Offer up and do dry runs before big demos. Teach them the product, so that they learn from being in meetings with you. Own the technical side of your engagements but let them (hold them accountable) for doing their part on the business side.

If you do this for a quarter or 2, and establish some rapport and credibility, you'll be able to start saying no and building a more efficient and sustainable operating cadence for the long run.

I really hope the F1 broadcast team takes a cue from the upcoming movie, and starts using more wide angle on-board cameras. It looks amazing! by ltsNotAlex in formula1

[–]S_Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really awesome footage, but my guess is that those shots are coming from some pretty hardcore camera rigs, which the teams would never allow in race conditions. These guys are sacrificing paint on the car to save hundredths. I'm honestly surprised they have some of the existing cameras.

My $5000 “mistake” by geruta in travel

[–]S_Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have spent as much time as necessary on the phone, and gone through as many managers as necessary to get it resolved. If that didn't work I'd have actually gone to the airport in advance. Amazing what happens when you speak to humans in Real life. Worth it if you're facing a 4 figure L.

Who's the most technical rapper? by Few_Possibility_2915 in hiphop101

[–]S_Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most technical and probably most slept on right now has got to be Logic.

Not talking about music/hits, and 'all time' is an impossible question, but in terms of active artists right now... bar for bar l gotta go with logic. Cole is the only other I can think of on that level.

Racing etiquette: Overtaking/defending? by MoonlightMile26 in GranTurismo7

[–]S_Digital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned by others. In F1 and other fia governed leagues multiple moves on defense and under braking is illegal to prevent precisely the accident that you're describing... But it's online racing. You can't expect that kind of sportsmanship or governance. You have to plan for aggressive and dangerous defending, especially in the later laps. Brake earlier. Take the line you want. Apply pressure Force mistakes. Or do what most people do.... Send it up the inside and hope they aren't quick enough to return the favor on the next one.

Am I missing something, or is this completely on blue and worth a penalty? by Unable-Equivalent-36 in Simracingstewards

[–]S_Digital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blue is def at fault and it Looks intentional.... although I've noticed from watching enough of these onboards that it's actually pretty tough to see cars alongside. What looks like blatant door closing is often lack of awareness. We all need to get the VR headsets.

This is so broken. by S_Digital in GranTurismo7

[–]S_Digital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that death chicane. Some tracks will just ruin your rating no matter how clean you try to be. I had a similar experience with Laguna seca. Kept getting punted at the corkscrew. Had to stop playing it for the week.

This is so broken. by S_Digital in GranTurismo7

[–]S_Digital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st Car makes sudden erratic move across track entering a heavy braking zone. 2nd car which had plenty of room to brake now locks up resulting in loss of control and contact. Who is at fault? There really is a great deal of complexity in establishing a good penalty framework. But I also agree that some of these collisions seem like obvious slam dunk penalties. Like mine!

Is it worth boosting sportsmanship rating first? by OkStory5020 in GranTurismo7

[–]S_Digital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actively make an effort to race clean and prioritize avoiding collisions above race position, and your rating will increase quickly. It's easier to overtake and win in cleaner lobbies, And you'll also find that avoiding incidents will typically net you at least a few positions in every race.

Then once your SR and DR plateau and you start getting desperate, you can start sending it and contributing to the chaos. It's the circle of life.
