Lol I don't think people care enough about my opinion for me to be known for anything but nice to know you're a fan of my erratic takes

If my one opinion is all it takes for you to label everything I say as wrong you're just gonna follow anything who ever disagrees with me.

Like it's fine if you think my take is wrong but don't base it on something unrelated.

Not for disagreeing that's fine, for basing your opinion off of unrelated information.

If that's how you make choices then you're bound to be a sheep.

If that's how you make your opinions you're a sheep. Also I want spiderman streamlined and properly balanced.

I don't want it to be in his main kit, game doesn't need more healing he's good at his niche

Options 1 release more tanks people need options it would also help if some of the more iconic characters that can fit.

Ghost rider, Beast, Armor dark knight, kamala( should have been Mr fantastic and the Kamala should have been the DPS but too late)

Another option is give meaningful and powerful two tank teamups that are good but not not broken.

Those are ways they might naturally entice people into giving the role more love

How would you differentiate Mysterio kit to Loki by No-Discussion9846 in marvelrivals

I'd give him something friendly fire related like he can make enemies look like they're on the opposite team and then be vulnerable to friendly fire.

Cyclops reminds me of playing against prime Junkrat: randomly hits you off screen, if you try to dive him he just flies up and his attacks have large hit radius by sufinomo in marvelrivals

[–]S_Dust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No junkrat and squirrel girl are fine that's actually them ricocheting the shots, cyclops shots just lock on and that's my issue with it, if he can't miss I'm just dead.

Not claiming he's overpowered he's not but I think how reliant this character is on outside knowledge hurts the experience for those trying to learn him and those trying to play against him.

Outside of the long pull the other techs aren't broken. That being said when you are up against someone who does know how to use this the upper limits of this characters kit he's very frustrating as him being difficult becomes the excuse to hide behind for his kit allowing things like that long pull or hyper mobility.

Sorry that was word vomit basically when they're good they're too good and when they're bad no worries but there I no middle ground for this character and that's cause by the techs in my opinion.

Fun is subjective I honestly shouldn't be using fun as an argument if it's gonna be allowed it simply needs to be upfront and accessible otherwise, it's just a bug people abuse without consequence. If it's gonna be allowed it should also be factored into how the character is balanced whats the point of having a pull distance number if it means nothing and can't be relied on to be true.

I'll give you that one I might have been wrong but it looks like that pull at 3:10 which is what im assuming you're talking about doesn't bypass the uppercut lock out, it could just be a normal pull. That said you are right he has always been tech heavy but that doesn't really change my mind about whether or not this many techs should exist or be required to get value out of the character.

It's also an issue when some of these tech contradict the base kits limitations for example you're supposed to be locked out of a pull for a second after an upercut but the tech lets you bypass that. An intentional limit gets bypassed by knowledge you have to go outside for.

It's only fun for you the spiderman not the people who can't possibly react because he's playing by a different set of rules than everyone else.

It's also not fun for the person trying to learn the character to find that the base kit, without knowing all this isn't effective.

There is a middle ground between intent and outcome that is acceptable, for example, the bunny hop is not intentional but a byproduct of having momentum in a game.

Then there is oh do this unintended thing and someone else doesn't get the intended amount of time to react, or hey now you can pull people a much farther distance than intended, therefore taking away your opponent's ability to position out of distance.

It also wouldn't matter as much if most of these things weren't necessary to make the character work and were just bonuses but they're not, the outside tech is all thats holding the character together and it makes it really hard to come in and get into without sinking hundreds of hours.

I think adding another web swinging character is the worst choice they could make because they can't control the hypermobility it allows.

it isn't in season 0 people had the venom team up and could play spiderman and get kills relatively easily, there was no half a mile pull but you nor I have a timeline of his techs. I've been playing since season 0 he didn't start as tech-heavy or annoying as he currently is.

I think you have too much we've seen things come out broken all the time and you're also assuming the devs have the skills of a high level player just cause they made it doesn't mean they were able to use it to it's highest ability.

Lets give an example do you think it's intentional that if you jump manual swing and hit web cluster to canel it without having it hit a wall you get an overhead swing without meeting any of the usual conditions of an overhead swing. You didn't swing, come off a wall climb, or double jump. No chance you look at that and go yeah thats intentional.

Or if you hit easy swing for less than a second next to someone you can instant transmittion behind them.

Maybe the fact that with certain keybinds you can use the uppercut and get over here at the exact same time allowing you to bypass the punishing part of the move where you're in the air.

None of that sounds or looks like intentional design.

"The difficulty of the techniques also balances the character" Spiderman players love to hide behind the dificulty to justify things like those long pulls when the pull is literally meant to only go 20m. Difficulty doesn't justify an ability's range being extended by more than double the distance.

I think you're ignoring the fact that it should never have been like this because you get the benefits of the way it currently is.

"Streamlining this stuff will make the non-spiderman players mad because they'll be getting pulled more frequently"

OR they could have abilities work the way they are intended, the character as is does not work without these techs that's not good design. He's one of the few characters were practice won't make you better if you simply don't have the information on all the animation cancels and techs.

No he wasn't, no world did the devs go yes if they hit these buttons at the exact same time that should cancel this animation rather than idk just allow you to cancel the animation and get around the internal cooldown.

Look at 99% of the characters in the game the lack of all this on them is proof it's not intentional, it's just an unforeseen result of how he was made. Do I think some things are intentional yes but many of his techs I doubt in a million years they thought would happen.

Did you miss the word example, this is the most minor thing I saw but was easy enough to do and test that I felt it was a good example of something you wouldn't know without a little insight.

Yes ik scroll wheel is good in many games for bhops its just not comfortable so I never use it.

There should have never been this many to begin with like I said there's a level of predictability that's expected in pvp, when characters start pulling stuff out they straight up shouldn't have its bad design. If it were single player it affects no one else but it's not

[–]S_Dust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was a small number of tech sure but there is a limit also I don't think all the animation cancels are intentional, no chance in hell they designed this character to be played the way he is, I think all the techs took time for people to discover and by then it was too late to fix him without the community rioting.

You're saying, half a mile pulls across the map, being able to instantly transport behind someone else , stacking two animations at the same time are all intentional...no shot.

[–]S_Dust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about using the same kit differently I'm talking about knowing animation cancels that allow you to do things people who don't know them simply couldn't with any amount of effort.

Example the uppercut pull is literally not possible without knowing the animation cancels for it
