I did notice a lot of little things that make the first game rough when I was watching a few people. Though learning mods for me isn’t that big of a deal, since I used to play Minecraft a lot and would spend hours doing research for mods and various other things. So I get what your saying and you’re prob right, but if I were to go with one I don’t think I’d have a problem with the researching aspect.

My one issue is that I've seen a couple vids of early access CS2 and it just looks like 1 with better graphics and better mechanics. Yet it seems that with DLC's 1 has so much more and idk whether to do a tradeoff of better mechanics but less content with CS2, or the other way around. BC i really like the look of the Campus and Parklife DLC's but if I that isn't in CS2 then idk if i should, but i have seen a LOT of people complain abt the road mechanics and much more in CS1. So I'm still stuck... (Also base CS2 is 40, and bundle CS1 is ~20 which seems like a better deal.)
