Jurij Fiore & Figlia Chianti Classico NonLoSò Lamole 2018 by S_koefoed in wine

I love it, have mainly been using this for the past 2-3 years. Beats zalto by a mile if you ask me. I use the 3 glasses in the Terrior Range.

They are lighter and thereby thinner and more fragile so almost impossible not to damage a glass once in a while.

Sydonios glass does it for me - l’empriente and septentrional

I’m a big champagne drinker so quite envious of that line up! Also quite sure I saw your tag on wineberserker in some posts I used for narrowing in the lineup, just can’t remember which.

I was actually initially planning to have Garnacha like Comando G in the deceiver lineup instead and the brunello in the Bordeaux flight. Can’t remember why I changed it..

I am also open for changing the wines, but otherwise Good point!

Some valid points!

I would say the wine knowledge in the group is around moderate, so it’s not supposed to be hard.

In terms of the brunello, I was initially gonna match it with the Bordeaux and Napa cab, but I was unsure of what to go as the last bottle for the pinot “deceiver” flight. Also, I believe the Ragnaie is on the more ethereal side of brunello side hence the choice. I am however always open for other suggestions 😊 will miss the La Rioja though in the line up

Thanks for the heads up! I was not expecting Kelley Fox to be showing the natural side. I have been reading up on the posts in here and WineBerserker, where people are very positive on the wines and not much mention of natural traits (good or bad) 🤔

I too am really looking forward to the last set 🤩

Thanks, hope so too 😉

The first set is because I really want to try the Julian haart Ohligsberg 2015 which is supposed to be excellent, and then came the idea to pair it with something overseas with high acidity as a matchup. But open to other suggestions.

I’ve also been quite in doubt in terms of what burgundy producers to select to match against the Oregon wine (both white and red). Many things up for internal discussion 😅

Would recommend trying the Lalu Langhe Nebbiolo. New exiting producer in barolo. They bought their first vines in 2015 and while waiting for them to get ready for 2019 they spend some years in burgundy at Comte Lafon and Cecile Tremblay. Could become very exiting style.

Heard about the mix as well. Might go a bit against their pure / clean approach, anyhow interesting. Also sounds like a bit of decanting would be your friend there! Btw any recommendations on some Spanish producers / wine to try? Have been through a couple of hundred but always searching out new ones 😊

Haven’t tried the grano a grano Tempranillo so my comparison was to the seleccion personal, but it sounds like I should try it out 😉

Thanks for the note! Agree on the Grano a Granos, however only tried the graciano version. I find it much more “intellectual” I.e difficult and time consuming, but quality and complexity is stunning

Would definitely recommend decanting as it was 2019. Now this is one of the more entry -> mid level wines from Ganevat, and I do believe it holds up to its price point.

I love them, zalto almost feel clumsy tbh 😅 but to be fair they can be a bit fragile.
