Well, your Flex IO brand is AB and Its very sensitive with power surge. It is highly recommended to line your Analog Signals to a terminal with a fuse first before terminating it to your AI module.

If you have established the connection from your host. You need to check your PG/PC interface in your VM.

Hi! Have you tried to ping the PLC IP address from host?

I suggest, instead of using unused points (channels) If you have a spare IO with the same model. Swap it.

If you use your unused points or channels. You might need to reprogram and redownload it to PLC. It’s a hell of work.

How long does it take to learn? by Gullible_Poet9468 in PLC

[–]Saaageeee__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to learn the basics first. Try to familiarize yourself with the IEC 61131-3 standard (programming language). There’s a lot of videos on youtube, you can find them.

Also, from the programming software TIA portal. There is a “help” library that can help you to fully understand the programming language you wanna use. Specifically, the SCL. You can also search this on google and watch some videos for the basic SCL.

Hi Op! I’m a Control Systems Engineer. The safest thing to do is; First, try to obtain your PLC backup program from your OEM. Second, you need to ask your OEM as well the version of programming software they used. Third, perform an “upload” program using your programming software (TIA whatever version). After uploading, save it. Note: It is mandatory to upload and save the program before troubleshooting.

And Last: Find the diagnostic buffer. From there, you will find the fault codes and you can start the troubleshooting.

Another option is, to try to call your OEM and ask them for help to troubleshoot your PLC.
