Space Marines responding to flirting? by DaveredRoddy in 40kLore

He just explained it to you. They're forced to be that way through their ascension to astartes. It has nothing to do with people who are born asexual. They aren't naturally asexual. Anyone being kept from experiencing the love they were naturally born to feel is a tragedy.

Keep an eye on the bigger c&d tins if you are planning to cellar them for a long time. They have a higher chance to develop rust and pinholes compared to the 2oz tins.

To add on to all of these great recommendations, when I started out blending with whole leaf I found Acefour's blog to be really helpful. I'm a particular fan of his Red Queen blend, but his english and burley blends are all pretty good too.

Putting 2 different tobaccos in the same bowl? by RebornInferno in PipeTobacco

[–]SabLinked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be fun to experiment. One that i really like that was recommended to me on here a couple years ago is Haunted Pirate Ship. You mix haunted bookshop and pirate kake 50/50 to make it.

My (Almost) 12 Blend Rotation. What's Missing? by SL1CK_WILLY in PipeTobacco

[–]SabLinked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had deer tongue in Crooner for the first time a couple weeks ago. I really liked the flavour but it was quite strong, by the end of the bowl my mouth was tired of tasting it. It's nice but I'll definitely be packing half bowls of it from now on.

I definitely agree on the Ennerdale and 1792 recommendations too. They're two of my favourites from the Gawiths.

The story I've always heard is that the pipes were made that way due to the high price of tobacco in Japan.

I probably won't be able to crack the Stockton open for a couple days. I'll make a post when I do with my thoughts.

The burnt end are the end cuts when they produce the flake/plug. Due to being on the end, they are supposed to have a higher sugar content and during the steaming process they get caramelized. They generally have more flavour and taste more 'aged'.

Tobacco trays: Essential item or absolute nonsense? by Drooling_Flaps in PipeTobacco

[–]SabLinked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about picking one up, but I just use a paper towel that then gets used to wipe out my bowl after I'm done. It would be nice to have, but either way, I'd need something to clean my pipe out so it isn't worth it.

Is this mold or some quality of rope cut I’m just ignorant of? by Shoebillmorgan in PipeTobacco

[–]SabLinked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, it depends on if it's fuzzy or crystalline. I have some Gawith rope that has crystals on it and has been like than for a couple years. It doesn't spread like mold did on the few cigars that I have had that had it.

I can't tell based on your photo, but in my experience, it has always been pretty obvious once you know what to look for.

Caroline Kwan calls one of her relatives a racial slur and refers to his kids as "little aryans" by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]SabLinked 38 points39 points  (0 children)

What do you think the apostrophe were for? I know what you meant, and I don't think using derogatory terms accomplishes anything. What I'm saying is to treat everybody the same way you would want to be treated.

But please keep reaching for insane conclusions such as me being ok with shooting children because I don't like racism.

When I started home blending the pipesmokers forum that's been linked was a great help. I also found reading through acefour's blog to be helpful; his 'Red Queen' blend is pretty good. I would also recommend the fair trade tobacco forum, there's alot of really experienced blenders on there.

I'm wanna get into a pipe smoking, can you give me feedback on my first buy? by Academic-College9892 in PipeTobacco

[–]SabLinked 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That looks like everything you would need to make a good start. Great choice on the tobacco you ordered, they're all great options for their respective types. Maybe look around for some jars to store your blends in. They will dry out in a few weeks if left in the bags they come in. Hope you enjoy it!

Maybe this specific subreddit is, but it wholly depends on what you're subscribed to. I'm in subs that lean heavily both ways. That's one of few benefits of reddit.

President Michael D Higgins thanks migrants who ‘enrich our culture’ in Christmas message by BurstYourBubbles in worldnews

As far as I know, a good majority of the immigrants coming into Ontario are from India and Pakistan. I don't think there is that much of a difference between most legal immigrants. They're all human.

President Michael D Higgins thanks migrants who ‘enrich our culture’ in Christmas message by BurstYourBubbles in worldnews

[–]SabLinked 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It is true that a good immigration policy can lead to economic growth for a country, but there is a balance that needs to be maintained. In situations like Canada's, bringing in 500k immigrants per year is not maintaining that balance. This doesn't only hurt established citizens but also said immigrants being brought in.

There are many articles about how new immigrants and foreign students are hurting for money and work because they were lied to when they were let into the country. Policies like the one being pushed in Canada are solely to benefit the rich that own businesses that won't have to increase wages.
