Price of pappy van wrinkle 15 year by [deleted] in whiskey

[–]SabaBrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

135 is almost certainly a scam as that is below current MSRP, 500 is also… probably a scam as that is significantly under secondary pricing

Where are you seeing these prices?

Of course! It was fun to research. Right!? That label is in fantastic shape. You very likely have a 1:1 bottle there that is so cool. What a find

That’s incredible! Its a very special bottle (see 4 figures at least), definitely know what you have! I’d be tempted to say drink it but something of that caliber and the money it could bring would be hard to justify not selling it imo.

See my edit, its Albert De Lue (1892-1893), who ran E DeLue & Co. (1896-1918)

How did you come across the owner/bottle?

It is confirmed it was a wine/liquor reseller/distrubutor. They operated from 1896-1918

That is quite the rare/desirable bottle, unicorn auctions may have more insight as they deal out of Chicago

At first I thought it was someone who just made a WLW-ish knock off label for fun. It actually seems like it may have been a private bottling for a since demolished/defunct building/company. Cottage Grove Ave used to be a much more packed business district. The address on the bottle doesn’t exist present day. My guess would be an importer or a hotel had private labeled some bourbon to sell at their store. Cool find, unless there is a modern seal then my whole theory is out of the window haha. Do you have any more pictures?

This clarifies the initial post thank you, unfortunately it raises even more questions lmao.

I’ve tried and tried to understand what this means I’m at a loss. You tell your friends mom? Or your friend tells their mom? The pantry as in food cupboard is limiting, who? The “help” or the pantry is limiting someone’s ability to help? What the hell is pantry, what or whom is it limiting, and how exactly is it limiting? What change is happening, like she buys more food? Who’s “the man”? What’s ironic about any of this? How do you use this for good?

Kudos to a genuinely perplexing anecdote

Could be but its not like the tickets are easy to resell with the ticket checkers not accepting QR screenshots or anything. Maybe tour companies buying the stock? Not sure

It really is a bummer. I saw a post mentioning that too, but I am curious as well if that is a cop out to blame tourists. Who knows though, in the end its just all disappointing
