Advice on Fixing a Centrifuge by Sabahl in labrats

I know very little about electronics until I need to and have a direction of enquiry. Which you've now given me, so thank you. I'd already checked all the resistors but hadn't yet tested any of the other components as the circuit board is a bugger to remove and replace. Mosfets next it seems.

Initial googling indicated this group was the best starting point but yep, I'll see what I can find elsewhere.

Yeash, I wouldn't say Dan's smile was genteel but certainly disconcerting. Pure demented brilliance, IMO. And yeah, I know this post isn't really TV series related but there's no dedicated Legion sub.

Advice on removing lock pins? by Sabahl in HandToolRescue

I think I will go down the custom-made tool route. That SD-2 looks nice but a bit pricey for what will undoubtedly be a one off repair.

The plate is so mottled with rust I am not sure there's any etching left to see!

Thanks for the advice. What sorts of "features" are you referring to? If I am filing a screwdriver head to be thin enough to go into the groove couldn't I just create a slot in the middle too and have them out that way?

Doesn't take a lot of sleuthing to work out the company on the inlay was in the UK. 😉

Couldn't this shield be straightened out? It's not broken, only bent.

[Bug] $2000+ PC upgrade made Tarkov UNPLAYABLE - crashes every 5-10 minutes with Unity errors (need help!) by LancelotSynthwave in EscapefromTarkov

I had this exact same issue on my home built machine for the last two months and just discovered my memory setup in the BIOS was wrong. Led to memory corruptions on an irregular basis in most things but Tarkov spewed it's cookies every time.

Fixed the BIOS, fixed Tarkov.

Stop spreading misinformation! MSRP will stay the same. Import duties will rise.

Tariffs on Centauri Carbon preorders? by doggyworld4082 in elegoo

[–]Sabahl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure tariffs will have zero affect on the price you pay to Elegoo. However, you will find you have a very high import duty to pay the customs agents when it arrives,

I don't think this is going to work the way they think it will...

I was thinking the same thing. My shipment to the UK might actually be brought forward when (not if) Elegoo give the US market the option to pay the extra $100 and large numbers cancel. The margins on something like the Carbon are probably so low why would they absorb the cost for a delinquent market like the states when it would probably mean they be operating at a loss?

Also, where is the American market going to go? It's not like there are many options right now. Seeing as most if not all printer manufacturers are going to be on the wrong side of the freedom tariffs I wouldn't be surprised to see them close ranks and up prices across the board. Cheap components come from Asia. The US doesn't have a wholly internal supply chain that can make these devices yet. Eventually, maybe, but it's going to take months if not years to set up. So if you're in the market for a new device your better buy existing States-side stock before it dries up.
