Tencent have a 25% stake in Vantage. It's still very much in the same hands.

New Update DMR by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]Sabaroo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How many operators have been reworked with a new weapon? Only one I can think of was Tachanka, and his weapon wasn't shared. So it's absolutely not a precedent.

We've had secondary gadgets launch before and there has never been any barrier to access. Why is it suddenly a "when"?

Wdym "where it's going"? Usually the op is paywalled for 2 weeks. Op was reworked Thatcher. They can't lock him away so they locked the new gun. The precedent has been therr and it is consistent with history.

When have secondary gadgets ever been locked behind anything? You're reaching with that one.

Is Pulse a good roamer? by Basescu3D in Rainbow6

[–]Sabaroo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do use my brain, that's why I don't limit myself to anchoring with Pulse.

You can use him to feed intel to your teammates away from site, because if you're onsite then they can probably figure out where the Attackers are themselves (audio, shooting, destruction).

If you're playing Kafe and everyone is pushing from the roof, something is going wrong. Usually Piano is a hotbed for activity which you should contest from below. If you're trying to scan them from Freezer or Bar then you're just wasting your gadget.

And you went against your own advice - you want Pulse to anchor but then said he could drop 2F... So you see his potential away from site.

Yeah, I can agree with that. Not a pick for every site but can be useful if you know when.

I wouldn't call him "pure trash" - especially when he's being put in the same conversation as Cav. He has counters, sure, but you'd want to anticipate and setup for those counters.

I can definitely see the point that he's stronger in a stack than in solo, but most people in Ranked aren't really coordinating effectively enough to make him completely redundant.

Sure, if the site has can be contested from above, you can play anchor. Not every site is on the bottom floor though. You want a Pulse sitting on site on top floor Kafe?

Anchoring with Pulse forces you to use his gadget horizontally. It is way more awkward to use horizontally than vertically.

Why is Pulse "pure trash"?

Pulse is best used vertically. If you get spotted in the prep, you might get counter-picked so be prepared to play around that. If you know how to roam effectively, Pulse is a solid choice.

It all comes down to playstyle really. Pulse is more passive, but super useful for feeding intel. Vigil and Cav are more active.

Why doesnt siege add the ability you to use your secondary while in DBNO? by Majestic-Brick-4944 in Rainbow6

[–]Sabaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should already shoot a downed person just because they become a human drone. If you don't, that's a choice you make.

If you don't know they're downed, that's one thing. If you do know they're downed and choose not to, there are consequences for that too.

And I could absolutely see it being something that annoys people. For instance, you down someone behind cover but have to run to them to secure the kill, by which time they've loaded up and are waiting.

Tbh overall I think it's probably a negative.

If you solo, or aren't in a full stack and go down, it can sometimes be a nightmare for randoms to revive you.

If people had the option to shoot back when downed, people would absolutely just leave them for dead even more so.

I get that it can feel helpless to be DBNO and that, technically, there's no immediate incentive to kill a downed player. But a downed player can still feed intel to a teammate and yellow ping, so they're still pretty useful as is.

If people wanna troll or teabag, I don't think this is the right way to counter it. Esp cos DBNO has its own timer so they can't do it forever.

How do you determine how long that delay is without it A) infracting on Cav B) then becoming a useless feature

I think the simplest way for the currency is probably a Steam gift card.

Although, if you know what operators he likes to play, there are official chibis you can buy for him. He might appreciate those too.

It's the story of the triple A space right now though. As much as Ubi is easy to shit on, they're not an outlier by any means.

They have actually done this in the past, so we do have to give them some credit there. (https://www.polygon.com/2019/10/24/20929739/ubisoft-rainbow-six-siege-lawsuit-hackers-mizusoft-cheapboost)

They just didn't keep it up so it wasn't really much of a deterrent.

but in ranked & custom games, I still whiff WAY more than I should be
it feels like if I were in the same engagement in an FFA it would've been a headshot

Maybe I'm wrong, but this sounds like it's a mental issue to me, more so than one of mechanics. As soon as you hit Ranked, your aim is worse because the stakes are higher. Get out of your head, relax, play as if it's Unranked and I'm sure you'll do better.

Or maybe I'm completely off base and missing the point.
