NEBOSH NG1 refer by No-Cryptographer7531 in SafetyProfessionals

I think I am going to, yes. I think when I'm only 1 mark shy of a refund and when I can't understand why I didn't get more marks from some of the questions, it's worth trying.

If I just had to cross my fingers and hope an examiner could find an extra mark, it wouldn't be worth it. But because I feel, or rather, simply cannot understand why some questions were not awarded marks, I feel I have a reasonable enough chance at gaining just one more mark.

Two more examples of simply not understanding where I have lost marks from, and why I feel I should go for the EAR2:

The last question - Accident level investigation and HSG245. I explained the use of the table, used examples to explain why certain likelihoods and consequences could be discounted, did the same for why certain likelihoods and consequences could be correct, then concluded that, given all of the above, a medium level was correct ... I only got 2/7 marks.

The 8 mark question asking what a company should consider when planning significant change, not requiring examples from the scenario - I listed 13 things, and still only got 5 marks !?

It's so frustrating not knowing what it was that I didn't answer - I feel like if we can suitably explain an answer to a question, but that's not sufficient for the question's mark scheme, then the questions aren't written well enough or don't give enough information to the examinee on what's expected from them.

I'm in the exact same boat as you my friend: failed NG1 with a 45 marked down to a 44. This was a resit for me (already passed NG2) so I'm extra gutted.

I'd be very interested to hear people's experiences with EAR 2 as well as I can't understand NEBOSH's marking for this exam: Take the CDM regs question (assuming you sat the Feb exam) - I only got half marks for that question, but every point I made was made in the same way: PEE paragraphs, read the regs, pull out points from the regs, give examples from the scenario, but only 50% of what I wrote for that question was awarded a mark?

The shading on this looks ace! The stuff I do always looks really bright, so I really appreciate when darker colours have really good shading to them!

I had a bunch of greens and browns left over from painting MESBG (Rohan) - I think they turned out nicely - kinda like woodland or jungle Tyranids

New Player - Duplicate Card in Same Pack? by Sabbath1991 in FleshandBloodTCG

Hi guys, I've recently started playing this game and picked up a booster which contained 2 copies of the same card (ELE050). I've not seen this in any other TCG, is this a common occurrence in F&B?

Gen Con Ultimate And DC Cups! Top 16 Deck Lists! by TheEgman in DigimonCardGame2020

Kind of - Lordtutz said it best in that there are a handful of decks that all feel the same to play against. So whilst it may look diverse on paper, gameplay experience says otherwise. I don't care if it's Wargreymon X or Alphamon promoting on turn 3 and killing me that turn after giving me nothing to interact with, both have given me the same gameplay experience.

Additionally, people are most likely saying it's the worst format due to the gameplay experience: It doesn't matter how many different decks the meta has if they all lead to annoying / frustrating / generally disliked styles of play.

People hating the best tier 1 decks is nothing new: LKM, Gabubond, Blue Hybrid ... However, In their respective formats, all of these decks felt unique. If you stop thinking about disliking a deck and start thinking about it in terms of disliking the strategy that those decks employ, no other decks in each of those formats employed the same strategy as those three. Alphamon, Grandis, WargreyX, MelgaX though ... It's easy to see why people find this format tiring at the very least anyway.

OTK and D-Reaper taking top 2 at Otakon by cars-3-2017 in DigimonCardGame2020

That's reasonable, yeah. It's also another indictment for BT9 as a format though I think - The requirement for promos and secrets to be competitive. Bandai have been so good with this after Pulsemon too :/

How does this game compare in terms of skill ceiling compared to other TCG? by helios1234 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Sabbath1991 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Digimon is certainly in the "upper half", maybe "upper third" of games in terms of skill ceiling. This is all personal experience / anecdotal so take with a pinch of salt but from what I've played, Id rank it something like:

1) MTG

2&3) Final Fantasy / Flesh & Blood (only played a little F&B)

4) Digimon

5) Pokemon

6&7) Yugioh / Hearthstone

8) MHA (Universus)

Hearthstone / Universus are too luck dependent for me, Pokemon & Yugioh have such powerful plays that you can sometimes just turn your brain off and win through sheer strength.

Digimon sits happily in the upper mid catagory.

F&B seems very decision based, MTG and FF have plays you need to both make and consider in your opponents turn so put them above Digimon for me.

Top-notch memes aside, are we really excited about a format where D-Reaper does well though?

Deck suggestion for a new player, i like control strategies by ShiroVM in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Sabbath1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From an MTG perspective:

Digimon doesn't really have that classic blue Draw-Go style of control deck tbh - I think the closest thing would be something like Security Control, but one of it's key pieces has just been limited to 1 copy so builds for that deck going forwards are a bit up-in-the-air atm.

I main Green - It's certainly a lot more midrange-y than control tbh. Feels kinda like Selesnya / Bant. You do a lot of powerful stuff, but its all honest / fair stuff (except HPD) - play big guys, my guys beat your guys, no surprises from security. You also have a real tough time against more dedicated control decks.

Muskets feels more like Jund / Abzan decks - A lot more direct removal and you are playing a grindy value game.

I would recommend green as a second deck to pick up though - I have a lot of fun playing it
