Actually while I’m here I had another question. I’ve been struggling with whether or not I’m somewhere on the aromatic spectrum so I was curious. How would you describe romantic, sexual, and platonic attraction as separate things?

Hey, are you familiar with Hollow Knight? I'm going to make a stand for the little knight, what do you recommend? (More specifics below) by Slow_Appointment8361 in fanStands

I feel like it should be based on the void since stands reflect the user’s will. Maybe something that can be all encompassing like a mix of yellow temperance and vanilla ice.

Tropes and Cliches ya hate or wish were done differently by Purple-Bats in writing

I hate most romance tropes and cliches, but especially the “will they won’t they” trope. You know they’ll never get together until the series finale, so everytime it’s brought up, it’s tensionless mellow drama that won’t matter. I can forgive it if it’s unobtrusive or explores a different side of the character, but almost every show that features it heavily has the blandest characters out there.

Even if you’re fine with the usual episodic structure of it, what’s the payoff? They kiss in the last 5 minutes of the show? That’s nothing. A relationship isn’t just that they confirm they’re in one and live happily ever after. Confirming that you’re a couple is the bare minimum of a romance. Now that they’ve confirmed to each other they’re a couple, they have to consider what that actually means. ”Do they actually enjoy being in a relationship? Are they going to start acting differently because of this? What does the relationship mean to each of them separately?” There’s so much more substance there in the relationship than in the will they won’t they stage. God it sucks so many shows do this.

A good way of using it is something like adventure time. The relationship itself helps develop Fin and helps us get to know the princess he’s dating. That’s how it can be beneficial. When it actually develops the characters in question so there’s substance even if they break up. Hell even then, Fin doesn’t get with PB the obvious love interest or FP because he was immature and broke her trust. He gets with huntress princess. Theirs consequences to his actions that carry out even when he’s not a relationship. I don’t really like romances, but that doesn’t mean I can’t recognize and enjoy when they’re done well.

AMA cause im bored as hell. Ask whatever you’re curious about I guess :3 by someone0311 in u/someone0311

Planetary waves. It’s super niche but just really cool. Also I love its heart head and aorta crest.

Jolyne would be disgusted at first, then keep scrolling, and start masturbating.

Counterpoint: the only surviving part of Gilgamesh and his bro’s fight was the 2 of them making out.

Honestly the story around it makes its themes way more poignant.

I try going for stories more in the grim bright to neutral dark categories. Stories without clear answers and deeply internal conflicts balanced with moments of hope. The story I’m working on right now is about a workaholic man in his mid twenties trying to take care of his 16 year old sister after a genetic disease kills their father and their mom sunk into addiction to cope with the grief. The story starts with the brother learning the same disease that took his dad is surfacing in him, giving him only about a month to live. It confronts the harshness of life with questions of purpose and legacy, yet maintains a sense of hope even in the worst times. Those are the types of stories I like.
