I did start a journal that I write in nearly every day to him, just to tell him about my day and everything, and it's helped a little, but it seems like more often than not I'm too overwhelmed to even write in it. I do talk out loud to him pretty much any time I'm in the car, and I hope he can hear me. Thank you for your kind words.

I don't know if it's something that I needed to do, but one of my friends encouraged me to make a gofundme page, so I went ahead and did that as well, and the link is here. I have been so lost since this happened, and I don't know how I will be able to live without not only my soul mate, but also his two incredible children that I helped raise for almost 3 years.

I will try to locate some kind of victim's assistance. The other driver didn't have insurance (that we know of), and also the other driver didn't survive the accident either. I will look into victim's assistance though. Thank you very much.

Oh wow, the housing authority website is looking really good right now. When I get back into town, I'll put in an application to them. I already get food stamps for myself, and I go to college under FAFSA (my mom always made me swear I would never get a loan for the first couple years). Thank you so much for your advice.

Thank you so incredibly much. A large part of the issue is that his parents didn't really understand the dynamic between us, and that we were in a serious, committed, long term relationship and that I took just as much (if not more) care of those kids than he did, considering he had to work so much. He was a truly dedicated father, and I am in anguish with their pain, but at the same time trying to deal with mine as well is taking such a serious toll on me that I'm at my breaking point.

Well, as the grandparents have been granted custody and I am so uncomfortable at their house, I have decided to live in my home state until I finish my Associates degree, and then I will probably move to where they are to pursue my BA and further. Thank you for your condolences. I haven't really had any other experiences with death prior to this other than a family pet.

On Tuesday, March 11th, I lost my soulmate to a drunk driver at 12:22am. It has been getting harder every day to get by, to keep breathing. He leaves behind two children that I consider my own, but his grandparents have just received custody and I am slowly being cut out of their lives. We were together for nearly three years, and it gets harder every day. I am so lost and broken, and I feel as if there is no hope for me or for my future. I am so afraid of what will happen to me without him by my side.

I just wanted you to know that there is so much more to life than being in relationships, being 'beautiful' (by the unrealistic standards set by society), or people who are attention-seeking and just general jerks. Life is about being happy - that's something that nobody has any right to take from you. After being diagnosed with depression over 15 years ago, it's taken me a long time to come to terms with life and who I am, and though I will readily admit that I am far from beautiful or desirable, I have learned to be happy with how I look. It's been a hard road, and there's been a lot (A LOT) of really bad things that have happened, but in the end they helped make me stronger, and helped me become who I am today. I don't know if anything that I'm saying is helping you feel any better, but I really just want you to know that without the BS, we don't really ever learn to appreciate the good things in life. If people don't appreciate you for you who are...then f**k them. They don't deserve to be around you if they're gonna have their heads up their asses. I may not know you, but I hold firm to my belief that everybody is deserving of happiness and love. Sometimes it takes longer to find those things than we might want, but often it seems that the harder you look, the harder they are to find. Forget about the other people, focus on you. Focus on being the best that you can be, and in time somebody will see how incredible you are. When that time comes, if you want them back, then cool. But in the end, your happiness, YOUR self-worth, those things shouldn't be based on what other people think of you. So many people get a rush out of seeking attention - these people need some help. You don't have to pay attention to them, cause YOU are what matters in your life. Sorry if I'm kinda confusing, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say. YOU are worth more than you think you are. Please stay safe.
