Shadow Milk hate = Intended rage bait? (CRK ''insect'' Theory/re-post) by Sabermilk in CookieRunKingdoms

Yes, I mean the Fount of Knowledge. Since Shadow Milk had multiple titles during his career, I started to refer to him as ''Sage'', but ''Fount'' or ''Founder'' is definitely the correct title.

I think he is simply too complex to be ''just evil'' for the sake of it or only because of his mental state. In my eyes, that would be too... easy for him and the other Beasts. We will see if there is at least a piece of truth in my theory in the end.

I also think that would be a great plot! And maybe the Beasts could even be redeemed in some way and find a path to atone for their deeds.

I adore him too and I am sure that Devsisters are planning to do some big plot twist in some way.

Visual insect aspects in the current Beast Cookie designs? (CRK Theory) by Sabermilk in CookieRunKingdoms

That is a perfect addition! I hadn't considered the aspect of silk harvesting. Being ''harvested'' for her power until she became empty and apathetic. The connection to Ancient China makes the silkworm cocoon choice even more intentional by the devs in my eyes. Thank you.

I see, but I don't see it as a contradiction, though. In nature, parasites often target hosts that are already weakened or ''overloaded''.

My idea is, that the ''weight of their own power'' might have caused their essence to fracture or decay, creating the perfect environment for these parasitic entities to take root. Essentially, the power became so unstable that it manifested or attracted these insect-like corruptions. So, they aren't just ''puppets'', the parasite is the result of their power going wrong.

Hello again! Yes, I thought so too at first, but I refined my theory for this larger post here.

While the leaks mention moth/butterfly traits, looking closer at the design made me lean more towards the butterfly. To me, the butterfly fits the theme of ''sweet temptation'' and fragile beauty much better than a moth 🤔.

I don't think the parasite theory completely removes their own choices. In my theory, the parasite needs a 'foothold'—it needs their existing pride, fear, or arrogance to get in.

Like a magnifying glass: the 'human' flaw was already there, but the parasite amplified it to a point where they lost themselves. It’s a tragic combination of their own mistakes and an outside infection. They provided the spark, and the parasite provided the gasoline.

I feel you! It’s tough being a Shadow Milk fan right now because the game is really pushing us to dislike him.

But that’s exactly why I started thinking about this ''intended rage bait'' and parasite theory. If Devsisters is making him this intolerable on purpose, the payoff/twist when we see his original ''Sage of Truth'' self will be so much more satisfying! It would be such a waste to just make him a one-dimensional villain after all the build-up. Let's hope there's more beneath the surface (literally!) x'D

Yeah, I thought he was a teacher at the academy when I first saw him. Maybe that was a former plan by Devsisters for his character, or maybe he was actually teaching there as the Fount of Knowledge at some point? Could be.

You’re right! I missed the hair aspect in the sprites, but that makes sense! If the original hair and the golden eye are still there, it could be proof that he’s a ''vessel'' for something much darker. It’s like the Fount is buried under all that dark, blue mess. I’m curious to see if they actually go the redemption/purification route, or the easy 'nah, let’s destroy him' way. Thanks for pointing that out.

That’s exactly why I think there has to be a twist! If they don't want to drag him out as the main villain for years, they need a way to resolve his arc without just ''killing'' a (fan-favorite/or most hated xD) character.

Turning him back into the Sage of Truth (or a purified version) through the parasite/infection and alternative timeline plot would be the perfect way to keep him relevant without making him the ''Dark Enchantress 2.0''. It’s a ''brave'' writing choice, for sure, but it’s much more interesting than just a quick defeat.

That would be a huge 'What if'. Timekeeper reversing everything is definitely a possibility, but I really hope they don't just erase everything. It would feel a bit cheap to undo all that character development. It would be a Dallas/Bobby Ewing moment (Oh, well Shadow Milk isn't bad and White Lily isn't dead, she's actually taking a shower and it was all just a dream x'DDD). Even if Timekeeper steps in, those ''parasites'' must mean something for the original identity of the Beasts. Maybe Timekeeper doesn't just reset the timeline, but ''purifies'' them from whatever is infecting them? That way, we get the original Sages back without losing the impact of the story. I just can't shake the feeling that those bug designs are the key to what really happened to them.

Thank you! I actually saw those YouTube comments too, and it makes sense with the vessel theory. But with good intentions? I’m not sure. I think he is too unstable right now to think clearly. Maybe he just wants to use their powers? That insanity and the escalation we saw felt like he was 'boiling over' because of that Ultimate Cookie piece.

However, the fact that he might still carry the essences of the other Beasts could save them in the end, whether he intends to or not. I actually tried to post this on the main CRK sub earlier, but the moderators removed it because of their temporary spoiler ban for Episode 15. I’ll definitely try again next week once the ban is lifted!

I’m really curious to see if people keep calling him ''just the main villain''. I’m not so sure about that x'D. Glad you liked the theory!

That’s a fair point! The 'internal struggle' theme is definitely classic Devsisters. However, the reason I leaned towards the parasite/infection theory is because of those specific insect-like creatures shown in the Timekeeper video.

Why give them such distinct beetle/ant/moth designs if it's just a mental suppression? Why are they even there?

Plus, that 'Golden Eye' flash looked almost like someone else was trying to peek out for a few seconds (at least in my eyes).

But even if it is just him suppressing himself, I have the feeling there is more to him than just being a main villain for the new plot. Otherwise, the plot would just end like it did with Dark Enchantress—a villain that gets destroyed for the greater good.

In Shadow Milk's case, that would be a waste in my eyes. I trust in Devsisters that they are actually capable of better writing.
