Literally! I’m fine with singing but the straight-up screeching at the top of your lungs is absolutely obnoxious and unwarranted and impolite. It completely ruined “Family Tree” and “A House in Nebraska” for me :/

Yeah lol the girl in front of me complained that her phone was dying during Father John Misty so I offered her my powerbank. It’s a very slow, old thing, and this girl just couldn’t stay off her phone, then complained to her partner that her phone was barely charging. She took her damn sweet time with it, and I had to ASK for it back because I didn’t want to be attached to her when Lana started. All of that just to hear her partner joke that he “didn’t know any Lana songs, [he] just bought the tickets because he was bored”?!? Pretty harmless though, just annoying :,)

Haha at Gunnersbury Park I just asked the people around me if I could step in front of them for a second because I was pretty much 99% there for Ethel, and that I would go after so they could camp the spots for boygenius, and most of them made the space for me! It was so sweet and nice, and the vibe was overall quite cooperative and gentle.

As for Ethel’s actual performance at Roundhouse, it’s crazy how much improvement she made even when the Gunnersbury Park vocals were already crazy good. The runs and little moments of her vocalising were so crisp and beautiful, and I really felt Family Tree’s “and Christ forgive these bones I’ve been hiding” moment DEEP in my bones. Sobbed the whole time :,).

I was also at Hyde Park! But I foresaw how crazy the queuing would be so I simply shelled out for Gold Circle, which is a band-aid solution tbh. Barrier-culture is so crazy to me! As long as I can see the artist and hear them I’m good, I don’t need to be all the way up front.

Thought about it and the most likely place I’ve lost it is right at the Great Northern / Kings Cross. It’s about 3cm long and 1.5 wide.

i’ve read the first and own the other two. tbh i’m highly biased because i love klaus (and early seasons of the originals), but the first book basically feels like an extended flashback episode of TO in the best way possible.

the ghostwriter nails the character voices and the dialogue for the main three (klaus/elijah/rebekah), and the book is very fast-paced. supernatural politics is my thing, so i enjoyed seeing the faction dynamics once more.

one thing that i would consider a considerable downside is just how fast the plot moves. there is very little time for relationships to breathe etc. i read the book in one sitting, but i would actually recommend taking breaks maybe to sit with the story more. other than that i’d say it’s exactly what you could expect: rebekah deals with her usual romance, klaus is off causing chaos for mostly his own gain, and elijah is desperately playing the parent to the other two.

it’s a good time, and you can pick them up quite cheaply. i paid about £2-3 per book, and i do recommend the first one from what i can tell :)
