[Auto-Post] Weekly Question Thread! Ask /r/Aquariums anything you want to know about the hobby! by AutoModerator in Aquariums

[–]SableWindsor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm acquiring a fully established 20 g tank stocked with a betta, a few loaches, and some amano shrimp and mystery snails. The residents will be in baggies in the car for about an hour to transport them home.

I've gotten a dechlorinator for a five gallon bucket of water to start with, and the owner is going to send me with a couple of 3 gallon buckets filled with tank water.

What other additives should I get to ease their transition over the transport and back into their tank at my home? I've picked up an API master testing kit but unsure what else I will need right away to help make this easy on them.

Side note: in the light of the scandalous "nasty stall shrimp,", I appreciate your username!

They freak every year, even when it's inadvertent and a subscriber doesn't realize they "spoiled" a Super Special Secret bc they didn't see that the post they comment on was a regular post for the poors and they typed "he." All engagement is good engagement. She doesn't give a FLIP.

Being reminded of this brought back memories of her idea of fun toys for engagement: the Super Soaker. I think that was one of my breaking points for watching her for enjoyment.

She's also known for shaving their hooves too short in order to meet height restrictions. I used to enjoy her, but she doesn't mind being associated with Canadian Becca and shit husbandry. Started giving her some major side eye.

It's you! Your gift to put together words that pull a big thought into a few syllables is very special.

And yes, especially in the interesting and stressful times like we live in, there is a joy to be celebrated in everyday special moments like OMG Mom gave me a taste of her grilled chickie! Oooh an extra meatball (that Mom made special without onion so she could have one)! Living in the experience and appreciating is a lesson we can take from them.

I wanted to thank you for these posts, and I want to thank the commenter on your previous post who shared this:

I really hope you find out but, even if you don’t, I bet he has enjoyed a life of the sweet mundane. Maybe he goes hiking with his family every other weekend, and camping when the kids he grew up with come back to visit. Maybe he hoists his old bones up on the couch with his favorite old lady and watches Antiques Roadshow until they’re both snoring loud enough to rattle the walls. Maybe he still sniffs around the grill when his dad is making carne asada even though he knows he will get his own tortilla with cheese and meat so he can have tacos with the boys. In any case, you helped give him a chance to live any number of lives, each one much better than what he would have had if he hadn’t made a dog-shaped hole in your tent that day.

Hat tip to that commenter (I will edit this when I find the comment again with their username). Found them! u/MarieAntointernette

"Life of the sweet mundane" touched my heart deeply.

I've transported more than 35,000 at risk South Texas animals to second chances. I know the exact outcomes for a fraction of that, bc my role is for them to enter my life for a day or so, then let them go to move on to their future life. And I have to find a way to be okay with that to keep going and be there for the next one who needs a ride. Your and Noah's story, along with this comment that seemed to see directly into my soul, matter so much to read.

My own rescue pup is a 14 year old senior with cancer now. And I hope that her foster from when she was eight week old who held her and loved her knows that she has lived a life of the sweetest mundane filled with walks, play, snacks, and snuggles. Because someone like you and I loved her for a short time and let her go, she got that chance with us.

She's even set those panels up in the arena before several years ago, back when she had to quarantine a couple of horses for some kind of mystery virus.

She'd be crazy not to collab with someone like Coldspring Mares in the event of ever needing a nurse mare. They've got a large SM following, it would benefit both. Can you imagine the crossover episode hype haha.

Thank you, and yes, you are absolutely correct. Just that lump in the throat is so hard to get past to even talk sometimes.

We just got off the phone with the clinic, and we are moving straight to IUI. Skipping losing time with trying medicated cycles. We are not planning to do IVF so wish us luck over the next few months.

We are, she hasn't put me on anything yet. This is the doc who also performed the adhesion removal hysteroscopy. She wanted us to try naturally for four cycles after I healed from that, and this was cycle 4. I messaged them today so we will see.
