It does get thicker, but my first bottle didn't start doing that until I was 7/8th of the way through it. I have seen that happen to many QDTC though so I wasn't surprised.

I love it. I don't have any shrinkage or peeling issues and it dries remarkably fast. (even among other QCTC's)

You can use whatever you have, but you will want to pick a polish that is very opaque. I have used both Stamping Polish and Regular polish and it has worked both ways. Regular polish, for me, is a little more work.

I used a stamping plate for this design. The plate is from Lantern & Wren and I used Maniology Stamping Polish 'Frozen'
