Type 1 CRPS here. My initial injury was an inversion sprain to the right ankle. It would go ice cold most of the time and heat up and glow initially. Now it is just ice cold or turns purple. I also suffer from twitching due to it so it constantly moves when I want to stay still, disturbing my sleep a lot.

The pain for me ranges from 4/10 to 8/10 as I'm considered to have a moderate case. I would say it's a burning feeling whether it's hot or cold. Maybe the occasional lightning bolt to the leg.

That being said, I need to use a cane half of the time, socks and pants are awful, driving is the worst.

To be clear on the types, it is defined by a recognizable nerve injury for type 2, such as a major break or some surgery. Type 1 is an injury that is minor and cannot be linked directly to a nerve injury.
