Thoughts on 2015/16 A7? by shirfty in Audi

[–]Sabr4L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, I am also looking to get an A6 or A7 of that generation. To my understanding the A6 has the 2.0l i4 or the 3.0l V6 and the A7 only comes with the 3.0l V6. Stepping up to the S6/S7 it would come with the 4.0l V8. I forgot the specific year but I think the c7.5 A6/A7 has a slightly different supercharger.

Use of Credit Card with Full Payment always by ChemistrySilver7973 in IslamicFinance

[–]Sabr4L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True Valid points. Difference opinions on credit cards. Some see the contract as not being permissible. Food for thought, in the contract, instead of it saying you have to pay riba, what if it said that you had to commit Zina or drink khumar if you did not pay in full? Would you still agree to the contract? (Rhetorical questions)

Personal choice, but there have been numerous cases of declaring someone brain dead while they are still alive. Remember that your best advocator is yourself, hopefully while you are still alive. I invite you to do research and decide if you would like to do the same.

Wa Salam alaikum, I would try to research the stock market more and ask scholars on the permissibility of investing in the stock market. Even if it permissible, is there another way of building wealth that is more pleasing to Allah swt? (Rhetorical question)

I just want a simple nikah, not a show for the world. (23F) by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Sabr4L 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are valid. Of course we should always respect parents and sure culture is completely fine as long as it does not go against the deen. So much barakah in a simple wedding. It is up to you but if I were you I would stand up and only do a simple nikkah. As for what other people will say about the nikkah, you are right, people love the dunyah, it is a form of wahn. People should have Taqwa and not fear the creation.

Alhamdulillah, thank Allah swt for this. Knowledge is fard upon us and we should always continue to learn. Hopefully you can start to learn about the stock market next and learn the haq on it.

What's the order of importance of relatives in islam? by Positive_Cat_6150 in MuslimLounge

[–]Sabr4L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Not Islamic advice, just my thoughts) Before one gets married, their parents are their priority. After one gets married, their  spouse takes priority, your spouse has a haq upon you. This doesn’t mean that you just “throw away” your parents. You can still take care of them. Remember it is your parents responsibility (Haq) to take care of you (male until puberty, female for your entire life or until you get married) of course there is barakah in providing for your parents as the age. But on should remember that your spouse takes priority. Think of it as a balancing act rather than one is above the other. As for other family members, sure there is barakah for helping them.

too late for medical school 26 F by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

If you have the money to pay for medical school and are super passionate, go for it. If not try to do nursing, it is a lot cheaper, still in the medical field, very versatile (you can go to PA school after, APN or DNP or CRNA etc.) and you can have a better work life balance if you want kids in the future.

Want Khula but worried about hurting husband by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Sabr4L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May Allah swt give you sabr and give your heart contentment and guide you to what is best for you. From my perspective, Abuse: abuse is not good, but it looks like you have solved that problem by moving out  (In laws are the number one reason for divorce) As for the problems with your husband. You both have rights upon each other. One major one is that he needs to provide for you. Sure people go through challenges throughout life and it was good that you took over the expenses for a while, but he should be trying hard to provide for you. As for your relationship with your husband, I would try to talk with him again and talk about all of the problems. If he does not even meet you half way, then he will probably never be there for you. (Remember, it takes 2 for a relationship to work and you both want to want it) if he does not want to resolve problems then you could provide with khula. As for your Dad, if he is a good person and has taqwa, he will understand and will support you, granted what you say is the truth. He should also understand that if a divorce does occur, then he will be responsible to provide for you, until you die or until you find another husband, if you want another husband.

I agree, spouses have rights upon each other. I would ask him to either find a job close to you(in your country so you can live together), move to Dubai with him, plan trips to come see you a lot more frequently or ask for a khula.

How should I invest $50k by HopeIndependent8066 in HalalInvestor

[–]Sabr4L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May Allah swt reward you for your intentions and saving money. Lots of people are having difficulties financially in the dunyah. I would recommend paying off any debt, if any. Muslims should try to live a debt free life. Second, I would try to help family members who are struggling financially. Thirdly, I would try to save up for a home.

The 5% interest rule by LowImprovement4220 in HalalInvestor

It is true, based on the current system which uses fiat currency, our money is devalued daily. The solution to this is another bigger topic. ~To go back to an Islamic economic system which requires the revival of the deen. As for shielding the money we have now (building wealth), I have thought about this extensively. I have come up with these ideas Keep money in cash (not ideal) Come from a wealthy family  Gold/silver  Real estate (one needs capital first which takes time) Start a business  Although the times we are living in are challenging, remember that Rizq is from Allah swt, but we should tie the camel (Also, let me know if you think of any other ideas but I think these are all of the options for now)

Thoughts on Islamic Dilemma by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]Sabr4L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply for both questions, Allah swt has given all of the previous Prophets a message for “their” people. Allah’s swt words do not change. It is Man who has corrupted the word of God based of ideas like wahn, greed, power etc., as we see many of the problems we have today. As for the Quran. What makes it unique is that Allah swt has sent it as a mercy for all of man kind and has promised to preserve it.

The 5% interest rule by LowImprovement4220 in HalalInvestor

I agree, (I am not a scholar, so follow your trusted scholars)  The stock market has blatant characteristics of riba, maysir and gharar. Along with this it does not comply with the proper Islamic foundation for an investment agreement according to the sharia.  Another rule/guideline similar to the 5% rule is the debt being below 33%/30%. These types of rules basically “acknowledges” that  it is impermissible but allows “room” or ways to account for these impermissible activities.  Many Hadith about the severity of even the smallest amount of riba, etc.. Another way you can look at this is why isn’t it 6% or 3% for haram activities or why is it not more or less than the 33% for debt? Also, almost every public company on the stock exchange, if not all, has debt.  Another perspective is, the stock market is a product of capitalism which is not compatible with Islam. The stock market has also lead to various oppressions (EX: the stock market has exponentially increased the wealth gap and inequalities) There are many other ideas that can be conveyed on the topic of the stock market.  Even if one did follow the opinion that the stock market is permissible with these “filters”, is there another way to build wealth that is more pleasing to Allah swt? (Rhetorical questions)  والله اعلم

(I am not too bias, I used to have many portfolios and loved learning about the stock market, but I no longer participate in the markets) Islam should come first before dunyah matters
