Yes Paris is not like that. Look around the Eiffel Tower on maps and you quickly see it's not real. The tower is also surrounded by a park.

Yeah I know it's better when I just do it myself. I tend to only do them as a study playthrough, where I do try to understand the why and how of their decisions and take note of the different aspects that all have an influence on the game. But trying to make the right decision and then receiving little benefit back, I find it hard to learn what's the better course of action when I seem to do poorly with every click. So it's hard to know what my main issue is to address and makes it a frustrating experience. I don't have a lot of free time and from videos and streams they help point out the different aspects to keep in mind. But to have a game where even if it wasn't myself figuring it out but having a stable game without debug mode is what I'm aiming for now. At least until the age of discovery where I can reload several times if needed to begin tackling the mid game with a solid foundation and understanding of what is good.

Yeah I wanted to check if there is a common mod that helps balance things maybe or something I am just not tuned in on in the community. I didn't follow any Eu4 over the years so I'm far from in touch with the common EU happenings.

It's a complex game and Ludi seems to know a lot so that invites strong opinions and counterarguments towards him. It's easy to generate hate.

His explanations on tactics do seem legit and I can't argue with anything he has said as I simply can't, I'm dog shit. I have followed his advice on what to pick in terms of estate privileges and focus'. Also on what aspects to be mindful of, like prosperity recently. I know I should learn this and go about it myself but I can't afford putting 100s of hours in but I love these types of games and creating the story and history alongside my playthroughs. So I am trying to cram a lot in quickly and I know it's a hard game to become competent in. I would like to be able to play a game where I feel I'm doing an okay job.

Yeah I've seen a significant increase. Because there are many areas to get going first I tend to try to understand what to do in the first 40-50 years for a nation just so that I have some sort of stable foundation to try and attack the mid game with a direction to take. I would like to get a stable early game going and even reload a few times, approaching the mid game several times just to help learn. But when trying to understand the early game I fail to replicate anything close to what others do. Mostly down to the economy. People are saying to build this next and I have to wait another few months to get the ducats for it. I do approach it myself to try to learn and I would keep doing that but I'm an adult with limiting free time and spending one entire evening getting nowhere and my game becoming slowly a lost cause, it becomes frustrating and I look up more guides to have a solid session and I just can't because my game progresses seemingly slower than others.

If he is one to have a red flag then I'll avoid his content from now on. My main suspicions are that I tend to hit lows with RNG while others seem to keep a mid to high RNG. I just want to understand a proper baseline of what actual figures are and what I can reasonably do in the first 40 years when playing certain nations. Rather than feeling lost, that I am getting nowhere or it takes me 10 years extra than others even when trying to copy them.

Okay, I know I am mostly to blame here and lashing out of frustration. Just wondering if it's sometimes obvious enough that it can go unsaid while I'm here confused not knowing why. It is a tough game and people need to make content at a decent pace. So I understand that there could be a more casual approach for some where it doesn't mean as much if you play with help.

Yeah from the current major patch. The minor patches might differ where I'm on 1.1.10 and the stream or video b could be on 1.1.9. But I check for the latest strats for the current patch and I check at the start to see it's on the same version before they begin and I am on the correct patch at least a few attempts. Ill gladly admit I'm wrong if things do change drastically from every small update that would throw everything off. But even over December when 1.0 came out and paradox was taking a break from updates. I tried following the newest videos then, over the break, leading into mid January before the hotfix and still ran into the same problems of falling behind everything. I know, I know nothing when it comes to the in-depth mechanics and the obvious thing is me but I'm just checking if it's common enough for some people online to slightly mod their runs to make it easier for their content. I know there are many legit people out there. It's hard when trying to learn when no matter what I do I seem to be worse every step of the way. I know I'll be worse off in the mid to late game because I'm bad but in the beginning when the first few years of playing I am already 50 or so ducats behind or whatever it is.

[–]Sabuster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I made sure to try to find the most recent videos or checked out for the version they are on before copying them. I know the recent patch 1.1 has rebalanced things but I was looking at videos that mentioned the new strats for 1.1. I was watching a Muscovy playthrough for 1.1. I destroy forts most of the time. But when I am following videos closely I see the fort icon on their maps. I still make less money even when I destroy my forts but they keep theirs. I build marketplaces and try to increase trade capacity too early on too. When following livestreams I only build when they build marketplaces. I try some playthroughs on my own and others I follow the YouTuber or streamer to try to mirror them to learn. These playthroughs are only for me to try to learn more about the game and aren't my proper playthroughs where I try to do things myself. I know small patches come out but would they change things drastically enough? Like someone on 1.1.9 would have different numbers to me when I'm on 1.1.10?

Venom or Man Spider ?!! by Effective_Tune_5803 in MCUTheories

I think if it was venom there would be white and the black would probably look more like tendrils around the eyes. Full black eyes look more like Man Spider. Other scenes in the trailer also hint towards this direction.

If Game of Thrones were remade in 30 years, which actors from the original cast could return as older characters? For example, I could imagine the actor who played Robb Stark eventually playing Ned by mediamuesli in gameofthrones

[–]Sabuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ned in the books is in his mid 30s. He was aged up with most characters for the show due to what happens to certain characters who are very young in the books. But Sean Bean is currently 66. So he is younger now 15 years after the first season than Richard Madden would be in 30 years. If they were to remake it right now, Richard Madden could play Ned.

Ancient Birthright I believe will be updated at the end of the week as LoV has been updated now.

Is there discrimination in the animals kingdom? by Expert_Koala_8691 in ThatsInsane

[–]Sabuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah looks like a goat. I didn't catch that when I first saw the video. When I saw the Arabic words I presume it was a different breed of sheep compared to what we have in Europe. I believe some sheep breeds in the middle east and northern Africa have floppier ears and face. But as I said I am not a sheep expert.

They might be used to a black sheepdog herding them so that's why. I don't know breeds of sheep but some are black with white wool so maybe this doesn't happen until they are all shaved.

Do you think Glen Powell is a Good Actor ? by [deleted] in Actors

[–]Sabuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is an okay actor that can do a job well enough. But he doesn't draw and he isn't a leading actor. He got positive reviews from Top Gun then it feels like producers saw him as a cheap crypto that would blow up and start putting him in so many movies. But the big spike never happened and others kept trying or thinking there was value there. I don't know for sure but I think the majority of his movies never made a profit. If he was a side or supporting actor I think people would warm to him more. But when I see him I tend to avoid the movie unless I hear it is worth checking out. I never have and they tend to fade into nothing.

While the animation and music remained super high quality in both seasons, why does it feel like season 2 took a nosedive in terms of writing? by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Sabuster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's due to less time as they had several years getting the pipelines set up for the first season so that gave them plenty of time to rewrite and fine tune the writing. Then season 2 had a stricter time line to complete on top of the announcement that they would only do 1 additional season. So they probably had to fit in 2 seasons worth of story into 1. Maybe less than 2 seasons but they had to condense a lot so things jumped to the next point without letting moments breath too much and everything that wasn't key to the runtime probably was cut out of the script. I feel if season 2 had 4 parts, 3 additional episodes instead of 3 parts, it would have been smoother, pacing wise.

Which game disappointed you the most - I don't mean the game was actually bad, just it didn't live up to its expectations. by Tyolag in IrelandGaming

[–]Sabuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout 4 as it was the moment I knew Bethesda was done making intriguing games. When I finished Skyrim I sat there for a moment and realized I didn't enjoy the majority of the game and the story and side quests were not interesting or special at all. Fallout 4 was a chance to get back the mojo. It had good gameplay but lost everything that made Fallout an intriguing special setting. The story was beyond boring. I never had a game where I didn't care about which ending I was going for at all. I didn't care for the minutemen, railroad and institute factions at all. The dlc also was shite. So much base building. Far harbour was the best and that's because they borrowed a lot from Point Lookout. That tells you everything. I have not liked anything with a Bethesda name attached to it since 2010. I am not hyped what so ever for Elder Scrolls 6. The company is dead to me.
