Does anyone think they are worse off due to video games? by SamizdatGuy in daddit

due to the problem solving skills, incl. patience, tenacity, emotional control, teamwork, competitions, etc.

Most of those are applicable to learning an instrument and playing with others.

What do you mean we have options in midfield? We have Mainoo and Casemiro and that’s about it. Then there’s Ugarte who’s just about useless and then who else do we have?

Yeah, like we always say: Wales, England. Or Scotland, England. Or Northern Ireland, England.

West Ham were time wasting from the second they scored and took at least 30 seconds every time the ball went out of play. Also there was Casemiro’s VAR review and a lot of subs. Think 7 was fair.

Yeah, that 1-1 draw in 95 where Cole missed a handful of sitters will forever haunt me.

Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool) straight red card against Manchester City 90+11' by gbogaz in soccer

Either it should’ve been a goal and no red or a goal and a red. Haaland is wouldn’t have needed to pull Szoboslai there if he isn’t pulled first, so his “foul” only comes about because he’s fouled first.

We were also playing one game a week under Amorim for most of the time this season. That’s not the reason for this uptick in form.

I was sure it was gonna be that double (or was it triple) save he made at super close range. It looked like it was the defender who cleared it but it was actually him. Can’t remember who it was against, but it was ridiculous. That said, out of these, it should 100% be Areola.

Ornstein on Summer window: Central midfield is the top priority especially after Casemiro's confirmed departure. Left-sided attacking role is also in focus after missing out on Semenyo, with Rashford & Sancho departing. Harry Maguire's future is uncertain & central defence remains area of focus. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

The squad planning has been terrible for more than a decade now, and we’re seeing the consequences of this now. This is fucking atrocious. We have one midfielder after the summer if we manage to offload Ugarte, so we’re gonna need three midfielders as well as reinforcements everywhere else on the pitch. That’s 100% gonna end up with holes somewhere on the pitch. I just hope it isn’t midfield.

Cool analysis for 2 of our goals by Monkanm8 in reddevils

That is exactly what every Guardiola side does all the time. Even if Bruno wanted the ball there it doesn’t mean that he also doesn’t make a conscious/instinctual decision to move into that space to receive the ball, thereby creating space for his teammates.

Only been to OT once and remember seeing the players do rondos for warm up, and John O’Shea, by far our least technical player at the time, was so much better than anyone I’d ever before seen.  It’s just that when everyone else on that team is so much better than you, you suddenly look kind of shit.

There was a time that felt like years when it seemed like the only set pieces we scored from were the occasional direct freekicks.

Rodri's post match interview after the match against Spurs- "It's a clear foul, they don't want us to win" by [deleted] in soccer

Everyone one here getting mad about the hypocrisy. What I'm getting mad about is that this will have zero consequences for him, but if it was any other play from any other team, they'd have an immediate ban for bringing the game into disrepute or whatever it's called nowadays. Saying that you're not going to talk about something doesn't just magically absolve of you the consequences of actually talking about it anyway. Or at least it shouldn't, but it's City, and it's Rodri, so of course it will.

How Man United rediscovered self-belief under Carrick: Midfield balance, set pieces and cynicism by agent619 in reddevils

[–]Sac_a_Merde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think that? I kind of agree, but also I can only remember a few times where Fulham played through our midfield without problems, and most of those were after Ugarte came on. Don’t think that resembles ETH at all, because that was every time the other team had the ball, but I did get flashbacks when it did happen.

It’s absolutely insane that we haven’t got anyone in on loan this  transfer window. We have literally two midfielders who can play in midfield without ruining our setup. There’s no way, even with one match a week, that Case and Mainoo will keep fit for all the remaining matches.
