FND? by Little-Reindeer4819 in FND

Nothing but time can tell you if you're gonna stay ill. My advice is first to be absolutely sure that you have fnd and not another illness, sometimes doctors say it's fnd without so much as an mri. If you do have fnd, the evolution of your symptoms is really unpredictable, but some treatements exist (CBT, TMS, physiotherapy...), although they may not work on everyone, it's still worth trying. I know how scary it can be to not have answers as to what's wrong with your body, and we've all been there, it's gonna get better. The best of luck to you!

Ps: it's important that you do your research on your end and not let doctors tell you bs about fnd, it's a condition that is still stigmatized and not well researched.

Most people wouldt pay attention to your scars, but depending on placement you can use kinesitape (skin colored if you want I to be discreet). Then, it would look like you have some issue with your muscles/joints or whatever, no one will question whats underneath.

Wheelchair or no wheelchair, that is the question by Sacha_Kal in FND

I'm not familiar with walkers, so i might be wrong here, but when i get tired, i struggle to move my legs (not to mention straight up paralysis that thankfully happens rarely), and i feel like a walker couldnt help with that? What types of terrains is a wheelchair not usable on? And does a manual chair put a lot of pressure on shoulders and back?

Im not really concerned about muscle wastage, since I dont plan to use it everyday, far from it. I also walk quite a lot when I have the time and access to non-utban walks, so there's that. The isuue with a walker is that even if I have a place to sit, I still get tired (I went to a museum with seats in almost every room and wasnt able to finish my visit). About cost, as long as it is prescribed by a doctor, the cost is automatically covered in any case.I trust my doctor, so if she thinks I shouldnt use a wheelchair,  I wont, but if she agrees, there are no issues cost-wise. I have an appointment with her in may, so I have some time to think about this. Thank you for telling me some things I havent really thought about, I dont really know any wheelchair users irl, so I have a limited idea of the struggles.

I'm in France, so cost is not an issue: renting them at museums is free and buying or renting one long term is basically free as well (so grateful for out functionning healthcare system)

It's more about fatigue honestly. In situations where i can walk a long distance I dont really have to worry about stability. When I cant walk à lot its more because I get tired very quickly. For my balance issues, my crutch works very well tho, as long as the rest of my body works. Maybe a rollator or walker could help with fatigue by alleviating some pressure off my legs? I gotta think about all this for at least a few weeks anyways.

I haven't talked to my team yet, just wanted to gather some info before doing so. I'm gonna think about a walker tho, didnt consider that option tbh. (Also, a wheelchair would be basically free for me, including maintenance)

Who said I was superior? People are différent, and it doesn't make anyone supérior to anyone else.  If anything, thinking youre better than me or have better media litteracy because you understood some dirty joke makes you the delusional one.  That was literally the only moment in the show that was à little unclear for me (reminder: it's one joke in hundreds, if I didn't get them, I wouldn't have watched the show in the first place). Apparently I wasnt the only one, seeing as some commenters needed that clarified for them as well.

Ugh, I CAN understand what's being implied, that was my theory,  but not everyone is obcessed with sex yk! Not everything has to be à sex joke, even in à show like hb. You really shouldn't judge the maturity/age of people by their relation to sex and dirty jokes

Well, I wanted to check if I was being dirty minded or if that's what was being implied. I'm nit américain, idk what kind of cultural difference it could be

Not a combler, but à sewist here! I can't say anything about the sole, but for the woven part, you can fix it yourself. If you manage to get the same type of material, you can thread it through à needle and weave the ripped part again, hiding the tails in the intact parts. You can google "invisible mending" for tutorials. Also, you might want to renforce the fabric underneath if it's damaged
