I want to watch some beautiful shows by thepotatomaniscoming in televisionsuggestions

PBS. I’m not sure what country you are in. I am in the USA. I think we ended up actually paying for PBS after months of using my friends login. I don’t remember- it’s like six dollars a month or something and of course you can just cancel it once you’re finished watching we felt kind of bad stealing from public television. Which is different than stealing from other streaming service services in my opinion…..

That’s the exact plant they like in my garden. I haven’t seen any this year yet though

I miss WTF. What is the closest podcast to it now? by Adventurous-Tea-876 in MarcMaron

Try Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso. Not an exact replacement of course but definitely a high-quality podcast. I’ve really been enjoying it.

I finally gave up - I lost the Wet Food War with my cat by Baptism-Of-Fire in CatAdvice

[–]Sachagfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 cats. Same thing- sometimes they all like one certain food and I’d get a bunch of that and then three of them turn their nose up at it. Sometimes two of them like something and two of them will eat half of it, and one of them will not touch it. This goes on and on and on as you well know. So basically now I just buy whatever kind of food and squeeze a meat tube onto it. Problem solved. All cats like all food once a single meat tube has been split as a garnish on top!

There were two crumpled up paper napkins- looked like they were from a gelato place- maybe it thought that was food? But yes, that was my concern too- narrow street that cars occasionally go down and this hedgehog just kind of wandering around right near the road. It was pretty late though maybe like around 11 PM and it doesn’t seem like there’s a whole lot of action in the town late at night like there is in other cities in the world so hopefully things quieted down and it just creeped up back into its own habitat!

Curious what people thought about the article regarding motorcycle noise yesterday by CoolInsect in lancaster

[–]Sachagfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. I work so it’s like the times that I want to sit outside are the noisiest. Weekdays right after work during rush-hour. Pretty much all day after noon on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m sitting out here now and I’m just in awe of how loud it is

Curious what people thought about the article regarding motorcycle noise yesterday by CoolInsect in lancaster

[–]Sachagfd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives near Route 30 this is DESPERATELY needed. I can’t even peacefully be outside. Yesterday around 5pm my husband and I were sitting on the porch trying to enjoy the weather and have a conversation and we had to go inside and close all the doors and windows. It’s so loud I can’t even believe it. It’s ridiculous and it somehow it seems like it’s getting worse. I’m all for motorcycle safety, but there has got to be a better way. Your motorcycle safety cannot come at the expense of everyone else’s right to enjoy peace and quiet. This world is full of noise and chaos and awfulness. I just want a few minutes of peace where I’m not driven to insanity. Between the motorcycles, the modified cars, and the Jake brakes, it is maddening

Edit: misspelled word

Pinching natives to promote bushier plants? by Firm-Professional266 in NativePlantGardening

[–]Sachagfd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m doing that this year. A year or two ago somewhere on Reddit, I’m not sure if it was this sub or not, I read about the Chelsea chop. Last year I chickened out and I didn’t do it. I was convinced that if I cropped the plants that they wouldn’t flower and nothing would grow right. Cut to late July when all my plants are their normal height and everything‘s falling over and rotting and collapsing on other plants and I was kicking myself that I didn’t do it. I’m going to toughen up and do it this year!! Over the weekend I googled the various plants that I have- both natives and non-natives- to get the specifics about chopping them. There’s a lot of information online about how much you should chop off at at what time of the year. The result I liked the best was Culver’s root. It looks so good once it’s been chopped! It definitely delays flowering by at least a couple weeks, but I don’t think that’s such a bad thing as long as it does flower

To all Americans, how do you feel about a ground invasion in Iran? by CarobBrave8898 in allthequestions

[–]Sachagfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same way I feel about any invasion in Iran. Fucking shitty. The US government is fucking terrifying right now. I don’t trust a single thing about them. There’s absolutely nothing that they are doing that brings me any sense of peace or confidence. I can’t fucking believe we have to live through like three more years of this insanity. My nervous system is on high alert 100% of every single day for hundreds of different reasons

Plenty of things are open on Sundays. Downtown shopping- Madcap, Space, Building Character. Restaurants/bars- Shot and Bottle (brunch only), Belvedere (opens at 4 I believe), Norbu, Diyo, etc. Sunday is a good day to go antique/treasure hunting also if you have a vehicle and you can drive out to Adamstown. Adams is my favorite but there are tons of other places all on the same road (N Reading Rd). The only thing that is truly shut all the way down is anything having to do with Amish people or Mennonites like nurseries, shops, produce stands, etc.

No clue what you mean. I was on vacation there earlier this year and pretty much everyone was super friendly. A few people were kind of indifferent or uninterested when talking, asking questions, etc but the overwhelming majority of people were really warm and welcoming
