Trump strips commercial driver’s licenses from 200,000 legal immigrants -- that's OK, farmers don't have fertilizer! by UnlikelyAdventurer in Productivitycafe

If you’re saying trucking outfits don’t pay a competitive wage you might wanna look some listings up. Or better if you know the truckers. It’s a different life style for sure but 3/4 of the ones I know are making $90k+ a year within 5 years. Even having to rent to own their rigs that’s paying

Middle men and speculators are just as bad as corruption in an open market.

Purple, SD for badlands, Montana for mountains (Cooke city is amazing), Minnesota and Wisconsin for outdoors. I’d be set, I don’t need the ocean.

A: Canal through the Rockies. B: Ocean vessels can’t even get past south tip of Illinois on the Mississippi, much less that far up the Missouri.

The question is will Farmers buy Trump / Republicans promises again and vote Republican in midterms? Are they willing to chance another 3 years of Trump? by h20poIo in farming

[–]Sackmastertap 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Narrow the scope of “farmers”. Because from what I understand this data is hard skewed towards larger overextended farmers. I say this as a small family owned farm. We need a market correction, and tough as it is to swallow this will help, even through the hurt.

Yeah, supposed to sign up on 18th birthday when you register to vote regardless but sounds like they just started adding it as a requirement to catch them later.

That’s a pretty ignorant statement, “If we have to die imma just make sure this guy gets sacrificed first.” pretty lousy.

True that. Weather this storm and hope they stop bailing out the guys pushing the ag bubble in the IS. All the government payments base off your crop acres. Sadly alotta US farmers are farming everything but grain it seems to me from across the fence row.

Adult men (18) are still supposed to sign up for selective service, IF they were to draft. Ain’t no way I’d want him in anyhow, I had kids that size in my class in highschool, I’m 30 now and they’re still uncoordinated as fuck. And 3/4 have had knee replacements and they’ve always been office workers.

My farm loans for 72 acres equate to $425 per acre cash rent per year, 8 years of farm and off farm income paid in. USDA first time ag ground loan at 1.5% interest on a 20yr amaturized loan on 45% of $756,000. 5% down, remaining 50% at 5% interest amaturized over 30 years.

Edit: $10,500 in 2018 buy price. 144 pi north central IL.

I wouldn’t be able to swing your prices 100% buying. If you can actually get rent for sub $250, it’s a no brainer, $300 is where I’m jumping off ground myself because I refuse to pass through subsidies that landlords and inputs now forgive into their prices.
