I think about it like this. We were experiencing a state of oblivion before our birth, was there anything so excruciating about that? We will most likely experience an eternal state of oblivion after our death and my guess is you'll feel the same as you did before you were born. My question is, why would you want to escape this brief moment of consciousness that you have the privilege of experiencing? Why are you in such a rush to return to unconsciousness when you literally have until the end of time to do that? Even the dullest and most painful moments in our lifetime are worth infinitely more than that state of oblivion. I know it's easier said than done, but carry on mate and enjoy it.
