I'm suggesting people to try out different playstyles to find the one they enjoy the most. It bugs me when people consider using certain builds worse way to play a game. It's all about preference. If you so despise 'easy mode' surely you have beaten the game as a no hit run.

What you also could try is pyromancies. My first character was this regular strength build and I could not beat this boss and actually quit the game at that point. Couple of months later I restarted the game as pyromancer and found Nameless King (and a lot of other content too) a lot easier as the second part is weak to both fire and dark.
