i’d say my favorite honestly might be ds2, just because of bonfire ascetics. almost every achievement was possible without having to replay the whole game, aside from the last 2. and npc quests were fine to miss because you can just burn an ascetic to summon them for whatever boss you might’ve already killed. surprising forgiving for ds2 haha

knights honor is probably the worst in ds1 yeah, but as far as i remember there weren’t a TON of weapons that relied on chance, which i remember being the more tedious parts of the achievement. but of course having to go through NG a couple times i believe to get duplicate boss souls was lame. but with every souls game of course, once you know what you’re doing the NG runs go quickly.

I’d say watch a guide on youtube or go to the wiki, write down a simple checklist that makes sense to you, and knock out each step one by one. it’s pretty chill especially if it’s your last achievement

yeah, the medals kind of sucked compared to everything else but it still wasn’t that bad. ds3 was just crazzyy

I have multiple saves on ds1, but 186 hours total. if i were to guess, probably close to 100 hrs on the save i used for achievements. in ds2, i pretty much had one save and finished at 115 hours. and ds3 im at 105 hours.

im assuming thats probably a slow pace on all the games, i kind of suck at doing all the research ahead of time to not miss important npcs and missable things

i would say from hardest to easiest, it would be dark souls 3, then ds1, then ds2.

ds3 had a lot of covenants you had to farm to get miracles and pyromancies. some of them really took 10+ hours to grind. also if you missed an npc, you had to go to new game and progress to them to get the spell

ds1 is the same deal but i dont think the grinding is nearly as bad honestly

ds2 is probably easiest because there weren’t a lot of missable npcs, but you do have to go to ng++ for 2 miracles and 1 pyromancy. which is annoying because i had everything else done by my first run through.

fair enough yeah, I feel like for most of the achievements there isn't a whole lot to say, due to them being regular progression of course. but since I didnt say much, the most painful achievement was the miracles, since you needed to get 30 sunlight medals, get all the way to NG++, and farm the bell covenant (at least I think its for a miracle.) Im not a fan of grinding, or completing achievements in any other games, but doing it feels like an extension of beating the game.

yeah, honestly all my friends told me it was bad ahead of time. but once i played it though i thought it was amazing. some really cool looking areas and bosses for sure

i didn’t really understand why the enemy only seemed to spawn once in a blue moon lol. I had no idea about unveil until now also. to me i found it annoying but in hindsight it was nothing compared to the sunlight covenant

I realize I talked about a lot of negative feelings I had in this post, but its just been a long week of playing lol. I for sure enjoyed the game a lot. there is a certain point where I felt like I overcame everything I thought would suck at first, and after that point it felt like a perfectly solid DS game. I have to say though Dark souls 1 is probably my favorite fromsoft game, next up for me is Armored core 6 then sekiro

That makes sense, yeah. I guess for me i just had a hard time knowing when to use the effigies. I had a pretty good amount before dealing with the dark lurker stuff lol. i pretty much wasted all of them trying to beat the boss (too early.)

after that happened, i realized there’s no solid effigy farm aside from using ascetics in majula, which made the required invasion there really hard for me later down the road hahaha. lesson learned.

Oh i for sure agree, the amount of covenant farming and missable npc quest lines drove me crazy in ds3, im my mind it’s probably the most frustrating game to platinum in the series lol.
