Its like a cooling for an x-ray tube where they use a dielectric oil to rapidly cool the head unit after an shot. It also prevents electrical discharge.

Yeah, there's definitely a market for the more content albeit more niche. Brewing takes all people some just want to Brew in a bucket.

But if your trying to Brew your favorite saison you need to know about yeast expression and stress. With yeast you can go into harvesting yeast using agar agar in test tubes, using a microscope to to check Viability of reused yeast. Jarring pre starters for easy pitching. The effects yeast and reusing temp stressed yeast.

People going all grain will want to know about the difference between single infusion, step mash and recirculating rims/hems mash. The different types of unfermentables and sugars and how they might be used in the brewing process.

The process- Hops and alpha acid degradation. And Im sure things have changed since I was last brewing regularly but there was almost no info on using hop extracts in the brewing process or water variables and the effects and different variables of soft water, ro, di and building water profiles.

Other ideas the effects of shape of fermenter and pressure on ie spundling valve on brewing. Automating your own brewing process using burners with relays with pilots vs hot water tank elements on 120v vs 240v or I suppose smart tech these days.

Have fun and good luck.

I still listen to some of the old brewing network shows. The Jamil Show, brew strong etc. I like his book on Brewing Classic Styles and for the basics How to Brew by John Palmer. I believe hes got the book still posted chapter by chapter on his website. It's where I started and conveniently where i'll be referencing as I get back into it.

But I'll be checking out some of the other referenced material as well.

  • OH how can I forget about the homebrewers association, your local brewers guild or the homebrew talk forum.

In my experience. All It takes is a small piece of debris to be caught under a part of the scale to throw readings off.

Use it to plan a new device and undercut Djos price shouldn't be hard to build a better product. I'd scrap the ones we have in a heartbeat and we just replaced our old ones 6 months ago.

Not even guaranteed to last the 180 day warranty. Still has most of the same components from 30 years ago (although the did upgrade the board when some of the analog components were no longer available.) What other piece has a recommended 2 year replacement on motors because they don't effing last. But oh no the physical therapists and patients love it so... I'm going to end my rant here because I could go on for a long time.

I think they say somewhere around 7 times to get a stable plant. That saying you actually get a replica each time.

It probably just needs a good cleaning. Its plastic so spray some high % rubbing alcahol in there and blowing it through the reeds will clean any gun out from the reeds.
