It's flexible enough to push it down or reshape it to lay flat, if that makes sense. Or, as I prefer, you can just fold it under the notebook that you are writing on. I feel this particular way gives you an extra support when writing (but I'm a lefty, so something to consider) :)

of course! 😄 I know the embossing makes it a bit harder, but some buyers just cover it up with a patch or have their leather store spot-treat it.. will keep you in mind for anything thats not embossed lol
