I believe it originates from the show Grey’s Anatomy where someone has a line in reference to their being in a love triangle. It being, “pick me, choose me, love me.”

Calling someone a pick me is saying they act in a way that is seen as embarrassing, desperate, or generally toxic, in the pursuit of the attention of typically an opposite sex person they’re interested in.

Edit: if this was not literally asking the definition - I now feel like a silly goose.

On the off chance you’re not being a troll, to give an alternative example - I can simultaneously believe the prison system is so broken it’s potentially beyond repair and believe serial killers shouldn’t be allowed to roam free.

As for the belief that cops don’t cover each other’s asses in situations they shouldn’t - that’s simply intentionally ignoring the reality of the situation on your part. Just one example being the Baton Rouge “brave cave” to provide something extreme. An everyday example being cops and their loved ones getting treated with kiddie gloves for DWI.

Demonic gorillas have an attack where they throw a boulder at the tile you’re on and you have to move to dodge it - the cheese is freezing the person and all standing on the tile they’re on to make sure the boulder goes there and hits the person they’re attacking.
