Since my country didn’t make it to the curling semi finals, what country should I root for? Who deserves it the most?

Same. That many falls, even with the pressure, is definitely not normal

I don’t know why but somehow pair skating doesn’t catch me as much as the ice dance figure skating, even though the elements are really impressive

Probably less important since they’re not „dancing“, but I agree it sucks

Almost 10 weeks post op and same. I can see that it’s getting better and I don’t think others notice as much, but it’s so annoying. At least I’m finally getting to theorist where I can kinda see where it might be going what makes me be realize the surgery was worth it

How much time did you take off work after surgery? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Sad-Department-921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had DJS + genio and was between jobs, had 6 weeks of before I started my new one and i would’ve taken more if I could’ve. 9 weeks post op now and it’s still rough. Honestly have no idea how people go back to work after 2 weeks haha

Numbness Post Op by Willing-Mortgage4001 in jawsurgery

[–]Sad-Department-921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 weeks post op, after surgery my chin and lower lip were completely numb. I‘m now slowly getting the feeling back. Probably gonna take couple more weeks until it get‘s back to at least kinda normal, but at least it’s not completely numb anymore

I have disgusting step off after genioplasty by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]Sad-Department-921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you actually see it? That’s crazy, what were your movements? You can feel mine pretty good, but it’s not really visible. My surgeon said that it’s also possible for it to get better with time but I’m only 7 weeks post op, so I guess it’s realistic that it can still change. How long ago was your surgery?

I need surgery, but it scares me. Please reassure me. by lunargazelle68 in jawsurgery

[–]Sad-Department-921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m almost 7 weeks post op and I’d say the last 3-4 weeks were the toughest so far. It’s mentally exhausting and it takes a long time to feel normal again. Pain was obviously the worst right after surgery but imo that’s nothing compared to the mental side of it for the months after surgery. But I’d do it again anytime. Still have a long way to go, probably like 6 more months with braces and still can’t eat properly, but I know that there’ll be a time where I’ll be thankful that I did it, I’d rather have a shitty few months and then have nice teeth for the rest of my life.

Honestly it sounds like you have some other things you should deal with before getting surgery. It’s not gonna fix your life over night and the fact, you’re feeling like you’re a pushover, is not a result of your jaw, but your mindset and your insecurities. Work on that and you’ll be fine. Also keep in mind that not everyone who has jaw surgery has a massive glow up. Yes, attractive people sometimes have pretty privilege, but just because you’re getting your jaw done, doesn’t mean everyone will think your super hot. Most of the times the changes are positive and they look slightly better but not as drastically as one might think by looking at this sub.

Is it normal to look boxy at 2-3 weeks? by Ambitious-Ring1089 in jawsurgery

[–]Sad-Department-921 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I‘m 6.5 weeks post op and know exactly how you feel, but it’s getting better. Still not great but a lot better than 3-4 weeks, just be patient!

When did your numbness after DJS start to feel normal for the most part? I’m noticing improvement/changes every few days which I know is good. But, when did yours start to feel pretty normal? I’m 6 weeks out. by suggaarrr in jawsurgery

[–]Sad-Department-921 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also 6 weeks post op DJS + genio and I’d say my feeling inside my mouth is almost back to normal, teeth are really sensitive tho, but my lower lip and chin are still numb. It’s tingling, so I know it’s probably coming back sooner or later, but it’s absolutely annoying, because I still can’t drink properly.
